My beautiful, sweet and loving guinea pig passed away on Monday morning at 1:15am and I don't feel any better today then when it happened...she's been sick, working with the vet to try to get her ore her pneumonia...but she passed. I am grateful that she is at peace now, but feel devastated by the loss of such a sweet little love...she was too young, this shouldn't have happened... you will always be missed my Gabby girl, hope you weren't scared and that you are with Susan, Beatrix, Megie,Cinny and Katie romping at the bridge, with no limitations, no breathing issues and a huge hay hut to sit on,surveying all that's going on, when you are not munching on it...I love you!

(PS, I added a pic of Gabby here.)

I'm so sorry for the loss of your little Gabby. It sounds like she was very special to you, and I'm sure she felt your love and knew you did everything you could to help her. {{{{hugs}}}} to you.

I'm so sorry to hear about sweet little Gabby.   I'm sure she knows how hard you and her vet were trying to help and loves you all the more for caring so much about her.  It sounds like she has tons of friends to play with at the bridge--and is so grateful to be able to play without any pain or discomfort!  But for all her joy at finding her friends, I'm sure she misses you every bit as much as you miss her.  Hang in there and be kind to yourself~~I'm sure Gabby would want that for you too!

I learned the hard way--keep Gabby's things for a little while.  The first thought is to throw everything away to try to not be reminded all the time.  A few weeks (months) later there are things you wished you still had--even if they seem like strange things.  After I lost Pogo I threw away all his toys, bedding, beds, meds because I couldn't bear looking at them.  The biggest mistake I ever made!  Thank God he hid his tiny toys all over the place and I found them months later.  I now have his claw sheaths (I know, strange) and his tiny toy mice in a little urn on my endtable.   So hang onto the meds and things for a little bit.  You will know what you want to keep, and, once decided, you will be able to do let go of things that won't hurt so much to let go....

Take Care,

Dev

Oh Faith .... oh no, no, no, no ..... I am so very sorry to learn your precious ^Gabby^ has gone on ahead to be with Cinnamon, Katie, Megie, Beatrix, and Susan.  {{{gentle hugs}}}

How my heart breaks for you.  I just don't know how much pain a furmom is able to endure.  :smileysad:   Please take some comfort in knowing you are the bestest furmom to your precious babies.  You did absolutely everything right for your sweet Gabby girl.  It's so hard to accept that our beloveds just don't live long enough.  (their only fault)

Right now, I can picture your sweet ^Gabby^ snuggled up against all your furangels, and they are telling her that you will be okay .... in time.  {{{heart hugs}}}

With my heart,
