I came across this site late one night when I couldn't sleep shortly after losing our beloved Daisy.

lynn-nj.
we lost 2 newfies within 14 months of each other. The first @ 10.9 years of complications of diabetes (she had it for 4 years) and her older brother, we lost to old age, decrepitude last august. He was 13. After Emily dies in 2008, Dylan (her older brother) and my husband and I were totally forlorn. My husband was desperate for another Landseer newfie. Dylan licked his paws all day long. But he was too old I thought to have to handle a puppy. Our breeder had an older brood bitch who needed another home, and we adopted her at age 7 1/2. She turned 9 last saturday. I love her and take her with me everywhere, but the sense of loss of the others, doesn't go away. It gradually goes to a quieter place.

I memorialized them with a plot in our yard and some plantings and after losing my locket with their fur, which i wore 24/7 I am replacing the locket and will add their fur when it arrives (thank you Lin).

This is just to say, you will never forget Daisy. Think about what she would want for you, think about your other LOs and go with your gut. That's all that matters. Big hugs.
