First, I must ask the question of where is Lin? I miss seeing her here.

We rescued Sheba 10 years ago. She had been abandoned by our next door neighbors when they sold their house and moved away. Her health issues began last month and we had her to our vet for evaluation. She was almost completely blind and her teeth were so bad that she couldn't chew the dry food any longer. We put her on wet food and she seemed to be doing okay. Her little meow was no more than a squeek - we had nicknamed her "Squeeky" - but in the past few days the meow went to howling instead. We don't know if she was in pain or scared. She was dropping weight and was lethagic. We made the decision to help her to the Bridge, which we did on Thursday. She was about 13 years old. I've done nothing but cry because I miss her so very much. I know it'll get better with time, but what a giant heartache I have right now. In 2 years we've lost 4 of our purrkids. This is getting way too hard. Thanks for reading. Cry (Also posted on Your Well-Being Ages 60 Plus.)

Oh C .... {{{gentle hugs}}}  How my heart breaks for you.  I am so, so very sorry to learn another of your beloved furloves has gone on ahead.  I can only imagine the glorious reunion at the Bridge when ^Lucky^, Granny^, ^Bob^, ^Missy Anne^, and ^Mr. Higgins^ welcomed your sweet ^Squeeky^ Home.....
Since it's been a few years since we've connected ... if you've "lost" four purrloves in the past two years, I just know everyone at the Bridge will be wrapping their ^wings^ around ^Sheba^, letting her know that your shattered heart will be okay... in time .... lots and lots of time.  {{{hugs}}}

What a wonderful Mom you are, (but I already knew that) to know when your ^Sheba^ needed a little assistance to cross over.  It still just breaks my heart that when our furlove's pain ends ... ours begins.

Please, please stay in touch.  (now that you've found me again!)  And ... how is YOUR Whisper doing?

With healing heart hugs,
Lin, Whisper's Mom

Aw, Lin, your reply brought the tears. I've cried every day since losing our wonderful Sheba. We have lost Sam, Sonny and Maggie, as well. Although I took their deaths very hard, I'm taking Sheba's much harder. She was strictly my cat. All she ever wanted was to have someone love her. She slept with me and when I'd awake in the morning, she'd be "plastered" (as I jokingly called it) across my face. She loved me as no other ever has. I look for her and when I realize that she's no longer here, the ache in my heart is almost unbearable. She was a beautiful Birman with the bluest eyes I've ever seen.  I might make mention, also, that our vet tried giving her steroids and antibiotics, but they failed to heal our little girl. Thank you for your sweet meassage and I'll certainly try to come by more often. I've missed you.
