I finally got the book by Kim Sheridan out of the library. It's called "Animals and the Afterlife". She truly is a beautiful woman inside and out. She loves animals, that is clear and seems a very sensitive and compassionate person.

Reading the book is making me cry and making me miss my cats who have passed (3 of them, and 1 that "disappeared" one day) but it's also very comforting, first of all to read about all the other people who feel as I do, who love animals and who grieve so deeply for their loss, and second, the idea that my precious cats could be living on and could be happier and healthier than they were at their death and maybe the dreams I have of one of them (my oldest and closest cat who I recently lost this year) are her actually coming to say hi.

Anyways, I just wanted to suggest this book. Hopefully it might help others how it's helping me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely read it. I've been wondering how you have been coping? I haven't seen any posts by you lately? Are you doing ok?

Hi Sammymomlove, how are YOU doing? I am doing okay. I was doing better, but now that I'm reading this book I'm sad again and feel lonely and missing the 2 cats I lived with for 17 and 22 years. these are the ones I lost recently in 2006 and 2008.

MyDakota - I truly do believe that animals may visit us, and don't think that's kooky at all! it comforts me so much, I just wish my cats would visit me!
