Have any of you experienced this with your dogs. Ever since being home from the kennel when Jack eats he first circles aorund the bowl...maybe eats a few kibbles and then circles again. LOL! We think it's so weird!!

Haven't seen that behavior before!  Almost sounds like he doesn't trust it.  Did you bring his food and bowl or was it a "strange" one?

Oh say, can you see?

I kind of agree with Barbara - it's almost like he's not trusting his bowl and contents? My bowls are against the wall so Dante can't circle it but I haven't had that experience with any of my dogs before.... so odd!

C doesn't do that, but her bowl is against the wall.  what I would suspect is that since they are just back from the kennel, that some other boarder was trying to steal food whhile Jack was eating, so he's now on alert adn protecting his bowl.  Thinking it will just disappear.  Do you bring his own bowl with you to the kennel?  Maybe if so, then give it a good washing as it may smell of some other dog...   Taz OK?

Suzan - that can't be the case here since when they're boarded they have their own suite - oh, unless Taz is stealing his food? Hmmm, but even at home he won't let her near his bowl. He will growl and she knows to stay away. But my point is that Jack and Taz have their own space and no other dogs in the kennel are near them when they eat.

Also, the only thing I bring to the kennel with them is their blankie - NO food or bowls. So, you see it's very odd. I find it cute and funny. Taz doesn't do anything like this. She's busy eating LOL

Donna - he did it this morning! It's so funny to watch. He eats a few kibbles then circles. Their bowls are in front of a desk not against the wall. So very strange!!

Thanks Barbara. I don't understand it. The bowl is not new but dh and I have noticed this strange behavior ever since he's been home from the kennel which was Feb. 18. When dh feeds them - he lets them out first to do their businness, then dh fills their bowls with food. Nothing has changed - food is the same and bowls are the same. Maybe it's time I wash them LOL
