Roly Poly had a "meet and greet"

I've been fostering Roly for five months now. Only two inquiries, and no actual meetings. Today, a middle-aged couple came to meet Roly. Long-time Pug owners who recently lost theirs, they want to adopt a senior. They are meeting with two other Pugs in foster homes in different surrounding communities, and will decide who the winner is.
Roly did well. He was recently bathed, so he looked and smelled good. He was sweet and let them pick him up and hold him. We will see what happens....

There are a bunch of seniors in rescue, and few people want older dogs
I'm happy for every foundling that finds a loving, forever home!
They adopted Sherman, who is very spunky for his age.
Roly has the energy of a box turtle
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Well, they are younger than I am, and Roly Poly is 9. I doubt that would happen. Of course I'd take him back. I've told Rescue if Roly never gets adopted, I will keep him,
As long as I have Roly, my home is not open to another dog. The purpose of fostering is to move animals through the system. There are a bunch of other Pugs needing foster homes to help them through heartworm treatment and other things. It is difficult to bring them here, nurse them back to health, and let them go. But I cannot become a hoarder. I cannot afford to OWN three or more dogs, plus my cat, and provider premium food and vet care.
I foster-failured my first foster (Kewpie, rescued from New Orleans post Hurricane Katrina) and she lived out the rest of her life here. She really was not adoptable. Elderly, homely and blind. But I loved her for some reason.
