I have noticed that shelter/rescue dogs usually gobble their food quickly.
Emmy was about 6 months old when I got her - completely untrained since was running wild on the reservation.
Layla will only eat her food if someone is in the same room that her food is in.

Greta, This isn't related to this post but are both your sheltie's AKC registered?
There's always a gobbler in the bunch.
I feed my dogs separately to avoid temptation and to resist the gobbling especially when I feed the chicken gizzards and hearts which is their favorite meal.
I think Spencer was fed a partially raw diet when he raced.
Well, obviously Emmy wanted to be with you :) Some things are just meant to be.
Does she still have some of the rescue "behaviors" after all this time? Bud has been here for almost 3 years and he still is nutty about his food. Loud noises sometimes still make him run for his crate and he's very clingy with me. Men in baseball hats
