FINALLY got the mud up!

I've been home sick since Tuesday and had planned to go back to the office today, but they told me they did not want the pleasure of my company since I still had a nasty cough.  It's been rainy and warm for DAYS, but today we got a break, a sunny 70 degree day.

I tossed the dogs out into the yard, got out the vaccuum and mop, and went to it.  I'm pretty weak from being sick, but in a few hours of intermittent effort, I got the floors all spic and span.  No more puppy prints.  But tomorrow starts another week+ of rain...Cry

Anyway, tonight I got a big fluffy towel to add to the rugs at the back door, and made the dogs stop to let their feet dry.  They got the hang of it!  It had to be something new, they were not getting the idea of stopping on the rug.  But now they have a new place to curl up.  Lucy has been on the towel for 3 hours!

I'm so sorry you were sick....this flu is really doing a number on so many people.  Dogs are so adaptable....they get used to something after just doing it once or twice.  I'm lucky because my yard is all decorative stone and slate...no dirt.  So sometimes I do get some wet puppy prints....but no mud.  When I lived in NJ I actually had a mud room....when it was really bad outside I would put large towels on the floor and the dogs couldn't go inside until they were dried and their paws were cleaned.

I hope William is back on his food soon....but I guess as long as he's eating his treats he's OK....LOL....

Mine were greyhounds and weims, pretty big guys, and once they realized what they were getting, they slowed down and enjoyed it!

Oh say, can you see?

Mine are a little too large and exhuberant to catch in a warm towel!  I have thought about a pan of water to try to get them to rinse the mud off of the feet in, but then again, the problem would be getting them to slow down and let me do it!

My dryer is right next to the door to the back yard, so I used to throw the "dog towels" in when I put the dogs out.  When they came in, they got wrapped in warm towels and just loved it.  Great snuggle time and dry off at the same time!

OH, and since I have been sick...William is not eating.  He doesn't seem to be sick, but he's not eating.  At least not his meals.  Maybe I have been spoiling them on treats too much.
