Roo Ben is ready for the parade to start/
Roo Ben, acting like a celebrityl, waving at all his followers!
Roo Ben is a big one! I had to carry him on and off the shuttle bus.
You both look like you're having a super fun time! What was the temperature? Today it's 110 so our parades were first thing in the morning. By the time fireworks go off tonight it will be around 100. UGH!
Roo Ben was the only one I took. I can't handle any more than him, since he is disabled.
We had to park at the university stadium parking lot and take a shuttle bus to the parade staging area. I had to lift him on and off the shuttle bus, and he is 29 pounds. I didn't know how far we would have to walk from the shuttle to our setup location and didn't know if he would be able to walk that far. In fact, it all worked out fine.
The parade was 2 1/2 miles, and it took us over an hour start to finish. It was about 82 when we ended, and the AC was on in the convertible. Temperatures have been below average for the past few days. Everything fell into place. This is probably the only opportunity I will ever have to do this.
These pictures are so great!! Roo Ben looks so happy (and so do you.....LOL).
I don't know about Roo Ben, because he is 9 and I have known him only since February, but this was the first parade I was ever in - ever, in my 66 years of life.
WTG Roo!!!!!!!!!! Love the photo....................... he looks happy with the wind blowing in his face. I thought the white behind Roo's head (the back of the other seat) was a hat!You look great and happy and I'm glad you got to be in the pararde... you never know, maybe net July you'll be in it again.... never say never.... ;O)
