Don't know if I belong here or not....I don't have a "pure breed" frankly I would rather have a pound mixed dog......but if you would want me to stay, you will see by my siggie that i'm a DOG Lover off all dogs, mostly i'm a big dog person......i'm into saving doggies and adopting them out, my 7 y/o daugher and I volunteer at a humane society...

Animals are my life.....I have 6 kids....3 of them have fur...

Shelbie (this is my husbands dog) black lab

and my babies are:

Rex - Shepard mix and around 45 lbs
Jake - Black and Tan coonhound mix

See my siggie for their pictures......

Yep, there's no doubt...you LOVE dogs! Welcome!! I'm Terre and I own two Toy Fox Terriers. Here's their webpage: http://www.terresplace.com/jack/jack.html

You will find many dog lovers here. I enjoyed your pictures. Big or small they are are still dogs and I love them too! ;)

I used to have a German Shepherd. He was all black but this was when we both worked and he required a lot of time. In all fairness, we gave him away to a lovely couple who wanted a dog for their grandchildren. He doesn't live too far from us and sometimes we pass by to see him. He's doing just great. We also had two Labs at one time (when we lived in the city). Paco ran away and Rahsaan (named after the jazz musician)

The story of how my furbabies found me....

Shelbie was a packaged deal, she came with my husband...that's a no brainer!! ha ha ha

Well I should start by saying I had a dog named Barney, he was my savior and best friend for 13 1/2 long years. He found me at the shelter and the moment I saw him, I knew he was mine! During this time, I had lived in New York (another long story) and at 7:30am while walking my dogs I saw that someone had left a dog tied to a baseball back drop....long story short, this is how I aquired Fred. Barney was a shep/dobe mixed and Fred was a rott/shep mix. On November 8, 2001 I had my beloved Barney put to sleep, it was the hardest decision i could have made. There was such an empty hole in my heart, i knew I wanted to save another doggie, after searching on petfinder, I went to a shelter about 45 miles away and that is where I got Rex.....Rex and Fred didn't get along, I mean they fought big time, at one point they got into a fight and Rex being the smaller of the two (Rex 45 lbs Fred 100 lbs) his front left leg was in the shape of an L and I was told we would have to amputate...but after 3 years I'm happy to say he is running and tearing around the backyard and you would never know his leg was broke! On November 23rd after Fred all of a sudden became really lathargic my dh took him to the vet, the vet explained to me he had cancer, I couldn't believe my ears, he was just running around and was fine....on November 25th 2003 on my kitchen floor, Fred died in my lap having a grand mall seizure...it was the worst day of my life as I was all alone.....the vet didn't come to my house fast enough...it was so tramatic...But with that being said, I know my two beloved best friends are waiting for me at the bridge! After about 6 months. I was looking at the shelters web site and they had a little of puppies.....I told my friend who is the main volunteer there how cute the one puppy was, and he said take him home....This is how i got my Jake, he was 9 weeks old when I brought him home...and now he is nearly 85 lbs! I couldn't imagine my life without my furbabies, they are a part of me, I woudn't be able to function without them..........

I'm instilling the love of animals to my kids, my daughter volunteer's with me and so will my son when he gets older. My daughter has already found 3 loose dogs and we were able to find their owners...she is my eyes when i'm driving....we make a great team!!

There is my short story on how my babies found me.....it's sad, but when one door closes, one always opens up. Have you ever heard of the rainbow bridge? I believe it is true and Fred and Barney are waiting for me....until we can all be together again!!

Rebecca Proud Mom of many furbabies!!!

I'm attaching a pic i had made of Fred and Barney at the rainbow bridge. The white german shep. is my best friends dog that died 2 weeks after Barney and 2 years to the day I lost Fred. Fred is sitting and Barney is standing....

No I didn't make my own blinkies.....but your more then welcome to use them!!
