I apologize if this has been asked before (or maybe I asked this question, lol)...but how did you name your dog?

As for me...we weren't sure what dog breed to get. DH initially wanted a Jack Russell Terrier and of course back then I was thinking of my allergies and hair I would have to pick up if we got a hairy dog. I didn't know there was

I have had so many pets.....I'll pick the latest ones...

Barney, his real name was Baron von Kruetzfeldt, but we shorten it to Barney....

Fred, well you can't have a barney without fred....and he was my knuckle head fred alright, bless his soul!

Rex, he ate Rex the bunny......he was already named at the shelter...

Jake, came with the name cornelious, he was NOT going to have that name, so my best friend picked the name.

King George, well he doesn't like any other cats and at the shelter he looked like the king of all the cats...

Ok let me go down my list here

Tanner was actually already named Tanner by the breeder, all of the dogs in his particular litter had all "T" names. But before we even found Tanner, we knew we were getting a sheltie and had been discussing a name. We wanted a boy and therefore wanted something that reminded us of the old west like the cowboys and indians days because for some reason even though he is a sheltie they do look an awful lot like Collies and I just for some strange reason associate that with wide open fields in the country, and old western days so we were thinking maybe tex, or trigger, or bullet, or dakota, anything that reminded us of a rugged cowboy old western times name. Then we found Tanner, and thought it was perfect name for what we were going for and at the same time we felt it wouldn't sound silly and cutesy in a show ring. So, Tanner it stayed. We have 3 cats as well, Snow White Becca named 4 years ago when she got her, just because she was going through her Snow White days the cat isn't even all white she is grey and white, then we have Lilly she is all white like the easter lilly, she is also deaf she is an albino cat and has one yellow eye and one green eye she really is quite pretty but oh what a independent little bugger she is! lol And Callie, she is a Calico we affectionately name her names like Bam Bam, Catzilla, and Bigfoot lol she is huge and her tail is so long she has actually tipped over full cups with hot coffee in them with her tail! We also will from time to time call her Houdini too as she likes to try and escape to the wonderous outside world as someone walks through the door. The cats were bequeathed to Collene actually when my best friend who also happened to be named Debbie suddenly passed away at the age of 43 of a heart attack, she was Collene's GodMother and had no children but her cats, Collene has them now. We have 3 Beta fish too Rainbow because he is all different pastel colors actually one of the prettiest ones I have ever seen. Fenway he is dark blue with dark red fins and Collene is a major Red Sox fan I mean major!!!! She can probably tell you the entire line up their ages and stats without even blinking or having to think about it. She yells at the TV at everygame lol Hence the name Fenway after the park that is home to the Red Sox. The other one is Miracle he is all a dark cranberry/fucshia color he is named miracle because 1 year ago now Lilly the curious deaf cat overturned the vase we keep him in one morning while I was in the shower! Becca comes downstairs and sees the vase overturned water everywhere and the fish flapping around on the floor, well she starts screaming! Now I have soap in my eyes trying to hurry out of the shower because I heard the vase tip and her scream so now I'm thinking she is cut! She goes running upstairs to Collene, now try to picture this! She hysterically screaming to Collene "Collene the stupid cat knocked over the vase and now the fish is dead on the floor!" Collene says are you sure it's dead? Cause now she is a bit grossed out thinking it really is dead, lol "She says yes it's on the floor going like this!!" Now try to picture a 6 year old, extremely upset, doing like the old B52's Rock Lobster dance while hysterically crying flopping herself around. lol Collene went running down the stairs into the kitchen and on the floor sure enough there was the fish on the floor still flapping around so without even thinking she picked up the vase which actually still had some water in it, scooped up the fish with her bare hands and threw it into the vase. Would you believe this fish is still alive to this day? Almost a year later? lol Hence the name miracle.

Oh Yes, Donna! Taz is such a little devil. For a dog being as tiny as she is...she sure has some "devil" in her. Looking at her you would think she's a puppy LOL

Hey our cat's name is Taz and we named him that for the same reason you named your dog Taz. Cuz he's a freak! LOL....

Archer is named after Capt. Jonathan Archer of the Starship Enterprise..LMAO...NO we are not Trekkies by any means. In fact Enterprise was the only Star Trek I ever liked. I just liked the name Archer. It's also the name of my husband's company (Archer Western Contractors.) I know, kinda cheesy huh?
