Ugh...there's nothing like a "rainy" Monday to get the week started off right...LOL....  It's been cloudy and rainy here since Saturday...when we have days like this it seems as if the sun is "never" going to show its face again.  And it's also been abnormally cool for this time of year.  It's supposed to get warmer as the week goes on.

DH was so bored yesterday and tried to take Cleo to the park in the afternoon...but then it started raining again.  He said that she stalked a squirrel and was sitting like a statue just watching it up in this "huge" tree...he said she looked so small next to it...LOL...

How was your weekend?

HI Laura.    We need rain so bad in central Ohio, send some to us please.   Most weekends are as quiet as during the week as it is just Rudi and I since I am widowed, have no family living by me and retired.  Very small friend base as all but one of my friends still have the normal life of husband and kids.   But this past sunday I did get Rudi out to a "meet and greet" at the private home I hope to board her at next April when I take off for a 3 week cruise and a couple stops in Europe vacation.  Out in the country, they have some other dogs and the lady works at a vet clinic and is the daughter-in-law to my one friend that has actually watched Rudi overnight and Rudi loves Patty.   So it all sounds good and I can breathe easy knowing she has a place to stay.    Rudi had 11 days of diarrhea from the stress of staying at the kennel just 2 nights in June so I knew taking her back to the kennel was not an option.     She still has a few blisters on her paws but not as bad as a month ago.  Ended up on antibiotics for a week and I put some benadryl cream on them too.   Not sure I will ever know what causes them.  I still maintain she has grass or other pollen allergies as her food stays the same year round but her skin issues come and go.   I love my little furgirl, she has saved my life for sure.

I'm Barbara, in West Michigan with 11 yr old Weimaraner, Comet; 4 yr old MinPin/Beagle mix, Brownie; and 4 yr old Himalayan cat, Keek.  We have had glorious weather.  Sunday was Comet's birthday, but we didn't have a party. I set up a new (well, new to me) hexagonal aquarium and rearranged my living room to accommodate it. It changes the whole feel of the room.  Bees and butterfies are covering the hydrangea outside my front window.  This is a lovely August!

It could very well be a grass allergy; my ^Samantha^ would get a rash on her belly and under her legs when the new grass came out in the Spring.

I'm so glad you have found a nice place to leave Rudi....I know that no matter "where" we leave our furkids when we are away we always worry...but knowing that she is in a loving home, rather than a kennel, will make it that much easier for you.

I love my pond fish...but I wish I had time for an aquarium....my father used to always have a beautiful, large aquarium when we were growing up.  He also used to breed fish...so I was around fish most of my life.

But I also know to keep an aquarium at its best you need time to keep it clean and, right now, I just don't have the time.  Maybe once I "really" retire I'll try again.

I also love the butterflies in the summer.  My yard has two large butterfly bushes but they are over on the side of the garage so I don't get to really enjoy them.  Maybe I'll plant one closer to my breakfast nook so I can really see it.  But the two that I have get so "huge" that I have to tie them to the fence to keep them upright.
