I feed both dogs once a day now. I used to feed my rott twice a day when she was a pup. Now that shes a grown up (physically, not mentally! lol), she gets it once a day. When she was pregnant and nursing, however, I left puppy food down for her at all times. Then when the pups weaned, she thought SHE was getting the treat of mushed puppy food! She definitely fits the mold of the Rott, thinks with her stomach CONSTANTLY!
Not my male mix breed. He thinks with his heart, and stomach is second. He is VERY finicky, most things he will only eat if offered to him more than once. Steak is the exception! Most of the time, he will have to throughly smell what is being offered. My Rott will swallow it before she gets a smell. I am trying to teach her to smell first, by holding the food back from her till she has smelled it, but I think that is actually making her gulp faster! lol I cant wait till she gets her first tummy ache from eating so fast, maybe she will learn her lesson. Well, now I think about it, she might have already had that tummy ache! But NO she didnt learn. Silly doggie.
Dogs can't reason cause and effect so something tells me Dakota
Hi Erin - do you have problems with Dakota and Dutch trying to eat Dana's food?
No kidding! I can't do this either. This morning while I was waiting for Jack and Taz to eat and I was reading the newspaper...and Jack still hadn't gotten around to eating, I looked up and there was Taz eating out of Jack's bowl!! I said, "Taz, what are you doing??" She had eaten half of his bowl. I picked her up and put her in front of her own bowl and then Jack ate! LOL
No thats mean, I wouldnt dare do that, but the peanut butter one is cute. She LOVES PB, too. She is the true licker with PB. My boy wont even eat it! FINICKY! I would never give them anything that would burn my tongue, thats mean. I agree about Dakota not learning, she never will.
Oh yeah I forgot about the peanut butter thing - LOL!
I feed Dana outside (she's an outside dog)
