I Think Anya Had a Seizure

I think Anya had a seizure this morning.  I was leading all four dogs down the hall from the bedroom to the patio door when we got up this morning.  Three dogs went out, and I heard a howl I have never heard before.  I found Anya, lying on her side in a puddle of urine.  I said "oh, poor baby!" and picked her up and carried her to the back door.  I stood her on her feet, and she went outside.  She seemed embarrassed.

I'm going to just watch her for now.  Hopefully, it was just an isolated incident.

Oh no! Hopefully it's not a seizure. Let us know how she's doing. (((prayers)))

The joys of senior pets.  I am so happy I replaced my carpet with vinyl plank.  I have five animals in the house right now, and I'm a little overwhelmed.

The cat has been throwing up hairballs for the past three days, and Roo Ben often can't tell that he has to go #2 and it just falls out of him.  Anya was always my "perfect" child.

OMG - well I have carpet. Thank God Jack and Taz don't have accidents anymore but with Taz I have to watch her closely because she doesn't always tell me when she needs to go out. Since she's so tiny she can't push on my knees to tell me like Jack does. Sometimes it's just a look and then I know she needs to go out. But accidents do happen.

I really feel for you. In my next house I won't have carpet.

Awww, poor sweet Anya.  Hopefully it was just a cramp.  When my son's dog, Greta has a seizure, she can't make any noise.  Her teeth clench.  Afterwards, she is very disoriented and unstable.

Keep us posted.

B.

Oh say, can you see?

Oh {{{Gaye}}}....I hope it's just a one-time thing.  My ^Maxwell^ would sometimes have these episodes where he would breathe really heavy and his eyes would roll a bit....and then he was fine.  It happened so infrequently that there was really nothing to check out...and he never seemed the worse for wear.

Here's hoping that Anya is fine....

I think maybe she fainted.  She had been lying on the bed, asleep, and I stood her up.  She made it maybe 15 feet before she fell over.  She has fainted once or twice before when she got up too quickly.  But that doesn't explain the unearthly cry she made....

No episodes since then.  Nothing abnormal on Anya.

She is 11 years old, though, so life is going to be getting harder for her from here on.

I'm sorry to hear this Gaye! That's scary stuff! Senior dogs constantly have problems and we're always a step behind them! I hope she's doing better and that she doesn't have a repeat episode!

Anya has been OK since that one episode.

The house is too full with four dogs and the cat, and we are all stressing a little because of it.
