what would you do? Give to a neighbor or friend who can give your dog a better home? Or, give it to the pound?

This infuriates me!! I have an email friend who took in a german shepherd (not sure if it was a puppy or not). She has

I know how you feel. This just totally infuriates me!! I keep thinking about that GS being in the pound.

I even sent her an email and asked if she couldn't find someone in her neighborhood, a friend, a co-worker, a relative....someone other than the pound. Haven't heard from her! I too do not get people....I could not put any of my dogs in the pound, doesn't matter if we couldn't keep them or not. When we had that black GS and this was when we both worked we just couldn't keep him. We didn't even think about the pound. We put an ad in the newspaper and I was so surprised, the day after the ad went in we got a call. So I felt better knowing the GS was in a good home and I even would pass by the house on the way home from work to see how he was doing. I would never EVER take a dog to the pound.

I had to place my son's German Shepherd because her and my older Shar Pei did not get along and he was old and didn't deserve to have her aggravating him.

Wow, great question Terre!! I think that I would do everything in my power to find the dog a good home myself. If I absolutely had no other choice, I would turn it over to a no kill shelter (we have a few

A pugle is a mix between a pug and a beagle. They seem to be becoming the new 'in' mixed breed to have as I have seen numerous of them popping up in both the grooming salon and training classes that I run.

Right! I just don't get some people who think you can dispose of a pet in this manner. Like Donna said...would you do the same to your children? Pets are part of the family, imho

At any rate, I'm still steaming about this. So far my friend has not responded to my email. Probably sinking her head in the sand. :o(

I asked my friend if she had checked into giving the dog to a friend, neighbor, relative, etc. I didn't want to cause her more grief since she is having family problems so perhaps that would explain her frustration and inability to think clearly. Since then I have not heard back from her. I guess it's been almost a week. But frustration or not...she had to know what would happen if she put that dog in the pound. My thought was that it was a hateful and cruel thing to do!

She also did not select this dog. It was a stray, I believe and she took it in, so I don't think she knew what she would be dealing with.

Hi Vickie - a Puggle is one of those "designer" mixes - Pug and Beagle.
