Good Morning everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was crazy. Friday night we had a terrible storm  and Jack went berserk! In all the years I have had Jack I have never EVER seen him react this way. We gave him a pill (diazepam) to calm down and while we waited for that to kick in we decided to put his thundershirt on. That helped a bit and before we knew he was calm and lying down. But during the time he was frantic Taz was so cute. I'm guessing she wanted to comfort him and she would follow him around the room, sniffing his mouth and trying to lick it. It was sweet. The rest of the weekend was nice - the storm passed and we got some good rain out of it but then Saturday morning it was actually in the 50's!! Wow - what a difference. The weekend weather was great!

Gaye here in Dallas/Fort Worth with the menagerie.  Moe, Anya and Roly Poly, the Pugs.  Dylan Thomcat the Siamese.

It was a drop dead gorgeous weekend after days upon days of temperatures in the hundreds.  Only into the mid 80's.  I helped crew the shelter's offsite adoption event at PetSmart Saturday.  We go the the shelter at 8 AM, bathe and pretty up the pooches selected to go to the event, get them collars, harnesses and leashes, and load the trailer.  Then we go a couple miles to the PetSmart.  Since it was so nice Saturday, we set up in the parking lot.  We took 11 dogs, adopted out 4 and one was returned to his owner.   The dogs adopted were the bigger ones, which is unusual.  It's usually the little cuddly things that go first.

There was a sweet little white poodle that fell in love with me and wanted me to take him home.  I walked him around and around, and he sat on my lap.  Friendly and liked kids, but was more interested in me.  He was so matted on intake that a volunteer took him out of the shelter and took him to her own groomer and paid to have him shaved.  He is so clean and soft, but looks like a little sheep until his hair grows in.  Sadly, he was not adopted Saturday, and is back at the shelter.

Well....we all know that dogs are amazing right??? And Taz definitely did sense that Jack was upset....poor thing!!  I'm glad the Thundershirt helped a bit.

I'm Laura and I'm the furmom to a 6YO lab/mix, Cleo here in Virginia.  As usual...nothing special this weekend.  The weather was beautiful so DH had the chance to wash both cars.  He also waxed mine....but his car needs a real overhaul since he uses it to bring Cleo to the Park.

Next weekend my sister is coming for a visit...she'll arrive on Thursday evening and leave Tuesday morning.  The weather is supposed to be really nice so we'll be able to get out and about.....and spend lots of time catching up.  The last time she was here we went to the dog park, so she said she wants to go again.  This past weekend Frank said the park was "packed" all three days...so Cleo had a ball.

Poor Jack! Wow what a reaction! I'm glad I don't have that problem with my dogs.

Donna here with Emmy, 12 y/o Airedale Terrier/Hound mix and Buzz, Greyhound, 11 y/o in Arizona.

We have been having major flooding problems with the major rain storms we have been having. We had another one on Friday. Luckily nothing bad happening to me personally. Buzz had a dental last Wed. and had to have a tooth pulled, poor guy! Emmy went to Petco on Friday for a grooming trip. The groomer said her hair was coming out in clumps which I believe as she was shedding badly. She told me that if I bought better food I might have less problems with shedding with both dogs so I'm giving it another shot. I bought Nature's Recipe because it was a grain-free food that was just salmon, sweet potato and pumpkin. I wanted fish for the oil to help their skin. Both dogs love the food and I'm introducing it slowly but poor Buzz has a very sensitive tummy and I started it Sat. and he was up all Sunday night with a tummy problem. So I'm going to keep at it but have made the portions even smaller for him until I can get his tummy under control. Emmy has a cast iron stomach - LOL! Saturday I got my hair cut and colored for a different look and Sunday was a laze around the house and clean it day.

Thanks Laura - I've never seen Jack so rattled. The thundershirt really does work.

Jack is finally eating his food. I swear after coming home from the kennel he becomes very finicky about his eating. He won't even eat the apples! But today he seems to be back to normal! LOL!
