NDR....And I have no Power....

A bad thunderstorm passed through yesterday afternoon and, as per usual....our power went out.  Which means, no water (which is the worst...), no cooking, no nothing!!  Ugh....I hate this.  I couldn't sleep most of the night and came into the Studio just so I could buy coffee from 7-11 and have breakfast.  As of this moment, still no power....and I have no idea when it will be back on.

Poor Cleo is so confused....everything was darl this morning and when I let her out ro roam for a bit I think she heard generators from other houses and she was afraid to come back in.  DH will be going home after his last client this morning and we'll see what the status is then.

Laura: I so feel for you.  Last early July I didn't have power for a week and the temps were 100, no breeze coming through the windows.   I carried Rudi up and down to the basement to try and get some cooler air.  It was awful, but my girl was a trooper and we would walk early on.   I was at breaking point and ready to get a hotel, and it finally went on.  I was lucky in that I still had water.   I hope it comes back on soon for you.

Oh (((Laura))) - I hope by the time you read this the power is back on. I know how uncomfortable and inconvenient it can be. Been there many times!! Here's to hoping everything is alright now ;-)

Finally after 26 hours, it came back on about 7 p.m.  When i went off on Thursday we weren't home...so everything was off.  So last evening I got home, fed Cleo, and was sitting in the Great Room.  DH came home with some more ice for the cooler.  He then went upstairs to the den and say "I think we have power!"  I put on the TV and there it was!!

Oh {{{Josie}}}....I can just imagine a week!!  When we still had ^Samantha^ Hurricane Irene came through and we had no power for 5 days.  At that time she was incontinent so I had been doing towels 2-3 times a day.  I had no water and, at first, lugged the towels to my VA Beach studio, which never lost power.  I had a shower there too.  Once my power came back in the Williamsburg Studio I did the towels there.  But we still had no shower....and "sponge baths" for 3 days were not the most comfortable....LOL....

I am so glad you got your power back. There is nothing worse than being without power. I know it and for someone like me who is a hothouse plant - I HATE it. Glad everything is fine now ;-)
