Today was not a good day, Chloe is starting to get snappy first of all on top of everything else, Today Tanner had to be rushed to the vet for a bump I found on his head last night, thinking it was nothing but just wanted it looked at we learned that it is a tumor and he needs to have surgery this week! We won't know if it is cancer or not until they do the biopsy, at the same time we also learned that Chloe has a pinpoint nonreactive pupil problem I think they called it, I thought it was just an eye infection. Well I guess it was at one point but nobody ever bothered to have it corrected so now we are looking at having this taken care of, if and a big if she doesn't lose the eye all together. Both dogs, 2 hefty vet bills I can afford one but not both, so we have decided that it is for the best that Chloe go back, I feel really bad but on top of all this as she seems to get more comfortable at home she is beginning to snap at Becca, and Tanner and Collene which is very strange I mean pitbulls under QT at the shelter she works at don't snap at her. I'm sure it all has something to do with her eye and I am sure she is very uncomfortable for her but I just can't take on two huge vet bills right now. We really feel it is for the best for both dogs at this point because if we keep her, then one dog would suffer until we were able to afford taking care of it, unfortunately both medical problems are pretty much in our face and we are up against a wall right now. So this is it. Plus I just can't take the chance on Chloe taking a bite out of someone, she would do damage and then someone would own my house and then we are on the street and I can't have that either. I know you all are going to think I'm overreacting I feel like a jerk but at the risk of all of this I need to do what I feel is the right thing for everyone.

I don't think you are over reacting. WHile the snapping is something that can be corrected the vet bills won't go away. To me it is only logical to take care of the one you have had the longest esspecially since you havn't had Chloe very long. Hopefully the shelter will be able to take care of her eye problem and she will be much less snappy and will find a new forever home with more people to love her.

I think you're doing the right thing. Until money starts growing on trees there will always be hard decisions to make.

Keeping you, Tanner and your family in my thoughts and prayers (Chloe too)! I understand about having two who are going through expensive treatment and having to make a tough decision. When you have the time, be sure to stop back by and let us know how all of you are doing!
