Here comes the parade...do your dogs follow you everywhere in the house? Does it drive you batty?

Hi Terre,
I'm thinking Jack & Taz are your perpetual shadows?   Coffee used to follow me around , but in the past year or so, unless I have or she thinks I have food in my hand, she doesn't follow me around anymore.  She's more into jumping on the couch and going off to sleep.  She now has a routine and pretty much sticks to it, she knows our routine and floows that too... (she knows when it's time to grab her chewy ball and head to the TV room in the basement....)

During the week it's not too bad but on weekends - omg, they follow me everywhere when dh is home. But during the week they have their routine which is lots of sleep time. As long as I'm in the vicinity - the same room or close by - they are fine. But for some reason when dh is home and I leave the room they have to follow me. When I enter the room  where dh is I always say "here comes the parade" LOL

Yes.  Even the foster.  I have a stall shower in the master bathroom, and all three are lined up in front of the shower door waiting for me to come out.  I keep telling them there is only one way out of there!

LOL - so funny. When Jack and Taz were puppies they would always hang out in  the bathroom while I'm taking a shower. And now? The first thing I do when getting up is of course go to the bathroom and there's that parade. Both of them follow me to the toilet. Jack wants his back rubbed and Taz drinks out of the shower...in between a good neck rub!!

Cleo will occasionally follow DH....but not me unless she wants to eat....LOL....  She will try to "find" me if she's finished eating and needs to get her biscuit...in that case she'll follow me into the bathroom and that does drive me batty.....

Oh yes I have a parade of one with Dante.  Except in the morning.  He's a late sleeper so he doesn't bother to get up until he's ready which is around 9am or so.  LOL!  But once he's up, then he follows me around my tiny little house.  If he can't see me then he has to follow.  I think it's funny and it doesn't bother me at all.

Laura - following me to the bathroom doesn't really bother me. But when dh is home I close the door to the bathroom and Jack and Taz don't like that. They start banging on the door with their noses LOL

One of the saddest moments when I was sick last year was when I was in the hospital and dh had to put the dogs in the kennel. Before he did that - one morning he got up and Taz was in the hallway looking into the bathroom - I guess looking for me. I cried when he told me that!

Donna - there's a sunny spot in our dining room. I always wondered why Jack and Taz don't lie there, instead they have to know where I am at all times! But now that we got new doors and an open glass screen door (I open that door first thing in the morning) I have found them lying there and looking out at the world. I'm sure you've seen that picture on FB. Taz is very much a mommy's girl...even if I go into the kitchen she sometimes follows me with a look "when are you coming back?" LOL!

With just one dog now, it's a bit easier, but yes, Comet follows me everywhere.  He's getting blind and doesn't move very fast, and I have almost tripped over him (not being the picture of grace anymore either!) many times.  Living alone, I don't close doors much, so we all troop into the bathroom.  Keeker usually jumps into the bathtub and Comet takes the bathmat, and they both watch.  Who knew it could be so interesting...

Oh say, can you see?

Barbara - how funny. All Jack and Taz want is a good back rub ;-)
