Do any of you have a dog who should be named Hoover or Dyson?

What kinds of strange things have they consumed?

Sorry this posted twice.  First I couldn't log in.  Then I got a message the site could not be found.  Then it posted twice.  Go figure!

Well Dante isn't used to people food so he doesn't eat anything unless offered and then he has to smell it real good and barely take it in his mouth to see if he will like it or not. Emmy was my Hoover. She would eat anything edible. I can't think of anything strange though. Buzz was chowing down on a dead rat that Emmy killed once. That grossed me out big time!

Sign-in is hit-or-miss since they "improved" the website.  I have "Keep me signed in" checked all the time, and everytime I boot I-Village I have to sign in again, sometimes two or three times.  I chalk it up to programmer yahoos who are smart and have no common sense.

My ACD (Red Heeler) ate all sorts of things out of boredom.  He would swipe glass ornaments off the tree and pop them in his mouth and spit out the glass.   He chewed the toes out of socks.  Once he ate a towel that was in his kennel and the emergency vet told us it was a good thing it was blue, 'cause she could get it all when she opened him from chest to belly.  He had to have something in his mouth at all times, and loved to carry a giant kong around hanging off his bottom jaw.  He would stack his beef bones on end like a little canine stonehenge.  Weird little dog...

Comet loves potatoes and zucchini.  He's also into apples, but doesn't care for bananas or carrots.  The greyhounds wouldn't eat anything that wasn't kibbled, canned, or meat based.  Except marshmallows.  Apparently the tracks used them as treats.  No wonder their teeth were falling out!

No, not food items.  Non-food items.

A year ago Christmas, I tossed a wine bottle at the recycle bin and missed, and it broke all over the garage floor.  I thought I picked up and swept up all the glass pieces, but I kept taking broken glass out of Anya's mouth for weeks.  She also eats all the acorns off the patio when she goes outside.  And she eats cat poop and litter (but never dog poop).  Earlier this week, I took a safety pin out of her mouth.  She licks the floor and licks the carpet.  But she does not eat the little lizards the cat kills.  I am astounded that she has lived to be 10 without having had emergency surgery!

When ^Moe^ was young, he jumped into the bath tub, stole my razor off the far ledge, carried it to the sofa, and chewed it up.  We freaked out, but then found the blade head under the sofa cushion.

Jack kills and chews on moles, eats lizards. They both eat bugs of any kind including spiders (thank god), Jack eats his own poop and Taz's poop. Taz rarely eats poops. Also Taz licks the carpet, she wants to get every molecule of food LOL! When they were puppies they chewed on socks and Taz still loves to chew on my underwear ....TMI. They both love apples and carrots, cantaloupe and cheese.

I had a dynasty of pugs who loved cantaloupe, and Moe loved watermelon.  Moe is gone, and Jabaar had that yeasty skin condition, so I took him off sugars and carbs, so I'm not buying cantaloupe at out-of-season prices this winter.  They get few treats.

When we first got Cleo she used to "take" things and bring them to her kennel....a few things she chewed up but not too many.  She just like to have things in there with her.

Now she has OCD about licking my tile floors....she actually waits until I'm out of the kitchen to go in there to lick the floor...but she'll do the same thing in the breakfast nook and great room, so it's not just looking for crumbs.  And if she hears me headed back to the kitchen she'll "slink" out....she knows that it annoys me so much!

One passion of hers is birdseed....she eats whatever is on the ground under the feeder.  I find birdseed in her water dish all the time....and her poop is easier to find too......LOL...

Gaye - I got that from you! I read in one of your posts that you gave your pugs cantaloupe so I tried it for the first time this past summer....and Jack and Taz love it!

Hi Barbara - in Arizona, Greyhounds get marshmallows when they finish a race and Tw*ink*ies if they win. iVillage in their infinite wisdom decided that Tw*ink*ies is a profane word... sigh.....

Coffee is a hoover. She landed in the hospital for 3 days once due to licking something on the sidewalk. I watch her like a hawk, but she's fast, and cocker's are known for walking along searching and sniffing and the fact that they are totally food driven . She loves hard chewing gum that people throw on the ground. She'll pretty much eat everything we give her so we don't as it seems that if she eats something new (even fruit or a slice of turkey ) it just makes her sick . My ds has to keep his earplugs in a jar with a lid on it because she likes to eat those and once at a whole package of them,, so we had to inspect her poopies for 3 days to make sure they came out (vet's request). Luckily they did. LOL She is not anyways bad as she was when young though,, that was a nightmare,, although she never destroyed a thing in the house, not a thing (thank goodness! )
