Gaye here in North Central Texas with the Pugs - Moe and Anya.

Four-day weekend for me, because I'm retiring Friday and I guess my boss didn't want to pay me for all of my unused accrued vacation days.

After I picked up my income tax package from the accountant, I went shopping Friday and bought a mother-of-the-bride dress for DD#2's second wedding, which was going to be May 5, but has now been moved to July sometime.

Saturday I went to a flooring store and talked with them about repairing or replacing the tile floor in my kitchen, which was not installed properly and is coming up.

Sunday after church, my children and grandchildren took me to lunch for my birthday.

The flooring estimator came to the house this morning to look and measure.

Sounds like a great weekend to me! Ever consider just tiling or putting wood floors throughout your house and no carpet? I'm definitely going to do that with any house I buy. No more carpet for me..... But area rugs are a possibility.

Donna here with Emmy, Airedale Terrier/Hound mix, 12 y/o and Buzz, Greyhound, 10 y/o in Arizona. I spent the weekend looking for houses. It's a crazy market out there! Houses are getting snatched up by cash buyers the first day they are listed on the MLS! Sunday was my monthly Greyhound meet 'n greet with Buzz at Petco. As usual he was miserable but I enjoyed it. LOL!

I have had sheet vinyl, laminate and ceramic tile in my kitchen. I am now looking at Kardean.

I have a 44 year old house on a slab. No basements here in the Dallas area. House movement can buckle and crack tile floors. Laminate (Pergo) is ruined by any moisture. Carpet is flexible and covers a multitude of sins. I don't want the cost and upkeep of real wood.

Really carpet and high-grade vinyl would be the way to go here.

Kardean?? Pergo isn't really laminate at least not how I envision laminate - vinyl - 70's kitchen floors - LOL! The house I'm currently looking at is all Pergo which I actually hate but will keep it if I buy the house. I prefer tile.....

You will hate the Pergo even more when one of the dogs wets on it and the seams curl.

Karndean is a vinyl waterproof flooring product in designs which mimic wood, tile and stone. It was a new product to me too. It's a little pricey but quote attractive.
