and pees a river.  And the last couple days the other two dogs, especially Moe, have been sniffing him and licking him.  Do you think he might be diabetic?

He had pancreatitis, and diabetes is related to the pancreas.  Just thinking....

I don't want to spend the Rescue's money unnecessarily on a vet bill, and I have to drive him clear to the other side of Fort Worth to their vet.

No word yet from his potential adopters :smileysad:

Is he eating OK? I'm sorry I have no idea about this topic, but perhaps the Rescue might have an idea if that's a possibility. OHHHHHH, I hope not... fingers crossed....

Oh Gaye....I hope that's not the case.  I found this article on diabetes:

I'm sorry you haven't head anything from those potential adopters either....let's just hope they're taking their time to decide and you'll hear some good news soon.

Well, if Roly is diabetic, it pretty much kills his chances for adoption.  And I think I would have to find him another foster home, because I just don't see myself doing injections twice a day.

His appetite is fine.

If I leave him more than 4 hours, he pees a lake on my hall carpet.  I have to get the carpet cleaning machine out and pull out the moisture and deodorize.

I'm getting overwhelmed.

I would get him tested for sure. That's a big sign of diabetes..... Spencer was a huge water drinker and I had him tested but he tested negative. He just drank a lot of water but I had to test him just to be sure....

I contacted the medical coordinator for the rescue last night and asked for a vet appointment on Tuesday morning.

I had a belly band on Roly last night, and he still went into my bedroom, hiked his leg on the corner of my bed, saturated the belly band and pad, and leaked all over the very nicest carpet I have in the house.  I was running the Pirhana carpet cleaner at 11:00 PM, exhausted, frustrated, with tears in my eyes.  I can't continue to do this!

The rescue's preferred and very best vet is off this week.  The coordinator is going to see if another vet in the practice can see Roly.

I have to take Moe to our regular vet tomorrow for a recheck on his salivary gland issue, and if money were no object, I'd just take Roly with me too.  But then I'd have to pay Roly's vet bill.  I don't own Roly.  I pay for his food, his bed, his toys, but Rescue pays for his heartworm pills and all his medical bills.

I feel so badly for you and for Roly. Hoping that Moe's salivary gland is OK now. Please give Roly and behind the ear scritch for me.

Roly is down to 17.4 pounds.  That makes him the smallest pug in this house now.  Hard to believe he was 33 pounds six months ago.

I dropped Roly off at the clinic early this AM, per Rescue's instructions, and got back home in time to take Moe to HIS vet.  Moe's condition has resolved, at least for now.  Roly will be tested at the clinic and the vet will review him tomorrow.

This weekend I was also supposed to make a homecoming mum for my grandson's date and make a batch of spinach meatballs to take to my daughter's this afternoon when I pick up her little one from school.

I was up at "dark-thirty" so I think I'll take a nap for 45 minutes before lunch....

Roly is a little thin. He probably should weigh about 19-20 pounds for his bone structure.

33 pounds was morbidly obese for a pug and probably the root cause of his other health problems.

I've had him so long now he thinks I'm his Mom.

And the homecoming mum and spinach meatballs are done. My children and grandchildren love those spinach meatballs. The recipe is on the Quick and Easy board over on the iVillage food channel. Boardies over there love them too.
