Just wanted to share this.  Do you have any experience with this type of thing?

My ds/dil are expecting their first baby early October and dil is getting quite "rotund".   ;O)  What I noticed the other night is that when dil sits (laying back a bit on the couch) Coffee is immediately right up laying next to her  (partially on her). The cute thing is that  Coffee's front half is enveloping the baby tummy.  Front legs are spread over and under the belly and she lays her head on dil's tummy. It's like she's protecting the baby. I think maybe she can hear the baby or feel it somehow?

Congratulation Suzan!!! You would think Coffee could hear the baby's heartbeat this how sensitive a dog's hearing is suppose to be. One thing I did when my son was a baby is have you ds bring home something the baby wore and let Coffee smell it. That is what I was told at the prenatal classes. I guess the point is Coffee will associate the smell with the baby. The only time I found any problems with most dogs are when the baby starts cruising (holding on to furniture), they reach out and try to grab the dog's fur, leg, etc., and then the snapping starts (with some dogs because of being jealous of the baby and/or it's just their disposition). That when you really have to be CAREFUL!!! I had Trampy then and he snapped a Bryan, I scolded Trampy strongly and he never went after Bryan again, but I watched Trampy like a hawk and NEVER left Bryan alone with Trampy. Peco he wasn't good with my step-grandkids as a baby but he is good the with older kids. Vozzy isn't good either with toddlers but good with older kids.
