Retirement is keeping me busy, too.  LOL  All those things we put off and put off because we worked and were never home.

I've had an antique chair repaired and an estimate on repairing the broken hinge on the corner china closet.  The car goes in tomorrow for its' 30,000 mile service.  I'm picking out new carpeting.  The exterminator comes a week from Friday.  I need to call the fence guy.  Here I am, a foster home, and my own fence would not pass home inspection.

I did meet a friend Monday night to eat and see the university opera workshop.  Her daughter is a freshman drama and voice performance major, and she was awesome!

Barbara in Michigan with Comet, the 10 yr old Weimaraner.  It rained here all last week and my yard is flooded.  Then yesterday morning it snowed furiously for a couple hours.  Then the sun came out and it hit 65 degrees.  Today is sunny and 50 degrees, but the weatherman is warning of 3 to 5 more inches of rain this week starting tomorrow.  The deer were eating my lilies and buds off the bushes so I sprayed them with deer repellant (one of the vilest substances on the face of the earth) and hope it works.  I switched cable companies, had my chimney relined and repaired, had my lawn tractor overhauled (it's not long for this world), had my windshield replaced and my headlight fixed...  retirement is keeping me very busy!

Oh say, can you see?

Thanks Laura. I dropped her off at the Vet this morning and will pick her up about 4:30. It was sad when I got home. Jack was looking for her, expecting her to come out of the truck. Then when I took him outside he kept looking at my truck thinking Taz has to be in there LOL! Poor thing...he's ok now, sleeping the morning away!

Thank goodness Jack doesn't bring moles to us but he holds on to it like a prize!

Donna here with 3 y/o Greyhound Dante in Arizona. Spring has sprung and it's melting into summer now. Ugh! But all my rose bushes are blooming like crazy and so pretty! This weekend I finished painting my nesting tables and that's about it. I was lazy - LOL!

Of the pugs in this house, only Anya is reasonably intelligent, so maybe this won't fool other people's dogs.  I just did heartworm pills for all three, and RooBen gets two prednisone per day.  I cut a slit in a piece of cheese shove the pill in the slit, and make my own pill pockets.  The dogs swallow the tidbit whole.

Ugh...Cleo finds voles at the dog park....I hope they are dead when she finds them but she has to carry them over to us and show what she's found....horrible!!

Laura in VA with 7YO lab/mix, Cleo.

Oh yes...Spring is here!!  At least the weather is nicer but this pollen is killing me!  Not bad enough for me to start taking meds yet, but enough to be annoying.

Saturday evening some of the Dog Parkers got together for a potluck party.  It was really fun.  There was a "huge" amount of food, and we played "pin th tail on the dog"....LOL....  Great people!

Terre from Arkansas checking in with Jack and Taz, Toy Fox Terriers. Spring has defintely arrived here. My daffodils are gone and now the tulips are up, problem is my allergies have spring up too! It's kind of hard to enjoy the garden when the pollen gets in the way. ;-(

I didn't do much this weekend. I was alone since dh has been gone since last Thursday but he's coming home today. Jack killed another mole and how I wish when he's done with his instinct he would throw that dead thing over the fence so I don't have to! Funny how once it's dead he leaves it alone. But if he finds a bird he eats in two gulps.

Taz's procedure is tomorrow (dental and removing warts). It's going to be a hassle in the morning. Since both Jack and Taz eat at the same time I'm going to have to put Taz in a separate room while Jack eats, then put her in the car and maybe Jack will do his business early. Then off we go to the animal hospital. She's not going to be happy she doesn't get to eat. I'll pick her up at the end of the day.

The antibiotics started Sunday morning. I put the pill in her food and boy was I surprised she ate that pill. But last night was another story. I had to struggle with her to take the pill. After much struggling and her teeth getting in the way - I put the pill in some bread and rolled it into a ball. No problem taking it that way. And, this morning she promptly found that pill in her food and lifted it out and put it on the floor. She's not dumb!! Wish us luck tomorrow!
