Well we made it through our first night

Wish us luck that all our nights are as good as this one was! Chloe would not go into her crate, we had to force her into it, and once she was in, it was clear that the crate is way too small for her! So we immediately let her back out again, I have seen the damage a dog stuck a crate that's too small can do. So we thought about switching crates because she fits in Tanner's, but, Tanner likes his crate that is his home and "happy place" when things get to scary for him and I don't want to take that away from him either. So we decided to just let them out of the crates for one night I mean otherwise where are you going to purchase a crate at 10:00 pm on Labor Day? They both did wonderful! Chloe just seems so happy and thankful that she has someplace warm and comfy cozy to rest her large bones and Tanner is probably thinking I'm not gonna let her show me up, Tanner slept with me and hubby in our bed, and Chloe slept on the floor beside my side of the bed there isn't room enough for her on hubby's side or I'm sure she would have chosen that spot because it is very clear how much Chloe loves him. In the middle of the night Becca came into our room to attempt to jump into bed with us (a nightly routine) and she started laughing and says I guess there's no room for me in here and went to the couch to sleep there. This morning when I got up there was Becca and Chloe both sacked out and cuddled together on the couch! No potty accidents yet either and no chewing other than toys we went out and bought for her. She really is a good dog, it's just that she is so playful and big that she tends to be a bit intimidating to Tanner she plays a bit too rough, I know for sure it is only playing cause like my Dad said if she wanted to do harm she would have done it already, it's just Tanner isn't used to it yet. Plus I have never had two dogs at the same time before and I need to get used to that too. I sent pix to Donna and was telling her there was confusion as to what mix of breeds she is, the shelter says golden/shepard Collene thought either golden/lab or lab/shepard. Now upon Donna seeing her pix she seems to think she may be lab/rhodesian ridgeback. She doesn't have the hair ridge down the back as is typical with that breed she has the coat of a lab or shepard but her face looks like a Rhodesian and the body does too. I'm just not sure, of coarse now Collene is telling people that she is what Donna says lol part lab and part Rhodesian because that is one of her favorite breeds, so I think she is willing it to be fruition lol. I didn't realize how big she was until we got her home and she is quite big and quite clumsy lol but we are already getting attached, she is going to dog class tonite to get started right away with obedience she needs it bad!! She is already walking on a leash much better now and now sits on command which is very good she seems to learn very quickly. Oh well, sorry so long just wanted to share our first night and keep those suggestions, and advice coming, maybe soon her pics will be posted and you all can look to figure out what she is lol I affectionately call her big foot right now.

You know what? Now that I think of it, It may have been Vickie(b1tiredmomma) that thought that Chloe was part Rhodesian, so now I'm not sure it was one of them though lol, it was late last night when I read it and I was very tired. Sorry Donna if it wasn't you, didn't mean to put words in your type lol.

That sounds good, Deb. When we got Taz, Jack was totally in love with her. Taz is quite tiny and sometimes Jack doesn't know his strength when they play. There were many times he would get her on the ground and it looked like he was hurting her but he is quite gentle with her. At times, Jack would get jealous of Taz's attention. Since she's so tiny we tend to "hover" over her, lol...then when Jack had his issues with eating in front of her I learned I had to take time with Jack, just to let him know he is just
