When we lost ^Samantha^ a couple of weeks ago, I thought that Cleo just took it in stride.

Any chance of taking Cleo to the shelter to shop for a companion?

Poor Cleo :(

Keep up the walking...

If it's anything like what Faith was/is going through it will lessen with time (though Faith has Champ too).

Hugs to you and Cleo! I agree with the other ladies. You might want to get her around another dog for a bit. Fostering a dog is a good way to see if she wants company and not be locked into a long term dog. That way if she's fine by herself, the foster will get adopted out and you'll know for sure.

Yesterday DH took her to the park for a while, and last evening she was acting a little more normal.

Is there any way that you could have someone come in and be with her a bit in the afternoon while you are gone,, or take her out in the yard just for a bit of companionship?
I have heard that playing some soft background music soothes pets while you are away. Coffee loves opera. (just not blaring,, just soft to mask the quiet in the house)

Hi Laura - you never know what "baggage" rescue dogs carry. I doubt you will ever take Cleo's fear of bathing away unforuntately. Emmy hates baths too and I take her to Petsmart to get her bathed for the same reason. The very rare times over the last 11 years that I tried to bathe Emmy she would flatten out on the floor and just become total dead weight and limp. Not fun! I bet Cleo is a nice clean-smelling fluffy girl now! I love how Emmy's fur feelsand smells right after a bath!!
