The other day DH's cable box "died".  Usually he watches TV upstairs in our loft/den, and I watch TV in the Great Room.  I replaced the box yesterday but, of couse, it didn't work so I had to go back today.  Last evening I told him to watch television on my set, and I would watch in the bedroom.

He told me that after he ate he turned on the television.  Cleo heard the television go on and she probably assumed it was me; so she headed upstairs to be with DH.  He watched her go upstairs; she went into the den but must have realized it was dark and empty.  She then looked down from the catwalk to see DH in front of the television and made her way back down.

When I got home I made myself dinner and went into the bedroom.  After a while Cleo came to the door and just looked at me - I told her, "Mommy's in here tonight...you can come in."  She came in and got on her bed.  Every time I left the room she would look up and I'd tell her "Mommy will be right back."

She's so funny....

They get so used to our routines.  Usually after Cleo eats she wants to go out again, and then not until we head to bed.  She'll know when DH goes into the kitchen at about 10; then she'll get up and head for the door to go out for the evening.

It's kind of different for us. Since I'm with Jack/Taz all day long they're glued to me. Follow me everywhere. When dh comes home they go to the top of the stairs to wait for him. Sometimes dh takes a while to get into the house so Taz gets tired of waiting and goes back to her bed in the bedroom (where I am) LOL! They get all excited when dh is finally in the house. They will hang around the kitchen while we cook dinner (in hopes we might drop something). Then they stick around in the living room while we eat. Jack will be in his big pillow and Taz lies behind my chair. Afterwards they follow us downstairs and sleep on the sofa until it's time to go to bed. When we're ready we say "Bed!" and they know it's time to go outside for their last break before going to bed. Sometimes they'll just go straight to bed, depending on when was the last time they had a potty break.

She usually splits her time....LOL....  If DH is home before I am then she'll stay with him until I get home...then she has to watch me prepare my dinner and then go into the kitchen to lick the floor (she has OCD in this regard).  Then she'll often get on her bed in the Great Room to be with me for the rest of the evening before we go to bed.

I think she was confused to not see me and DH in our "normal" spots....so she wanted to make sure one of us was in her sightline at all times....LOL....

Dogs continue to amaze me. Taz always comes to the kitchen to find out when I'm coming back to the bedroom LOL! I guess Cleo is the same way - has to be in the same room with you.
