How would you spell Rachel/Rachael?
Mon, 05-03-2004 - 1:14pm
I think we are leaning towards the name Rachel/Rachael if it is a girl. My problem is is that I want it to be the more common spelling, and I dont know which one that is. Is Rachael the more old fashioned spelling and Rachel the more up to date spelling? How would you spell it? thanks! Jeri

My name is Rachel and I prefer that spelling. I believe the Bible spelling is Rachel too. I really like the name and I think either spelling will work fine...just be prepared for your daughter to be called "Rachie" and "Rach". I think it is a lovely name.

I like Rachel. I have a daughter named Rachel. Also, RAchel is how they spell it in the Bible.

My name is spelled Rachael and it is very hard for me to find anything that is spelled that way and not Rachel. Rachel is the biblical spelling and you will find everything (pencils, necklaces, etc.) for that name but on the other hand I believe Rachael makes me unique and even though I have to order things with my name on it I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Thanks everybody! Rachael, thanks for letting me know that it is hard to find things in your name. I worry about things like that, my daughters name is Laura, so there are plenty of things in her name, and I wanted it the same for this one. I think Rachael is pretty and unique looking, I thought for sure that was the normal spelling.

Thanks again!
