Been married for 16 years. Bob's ex wife recently tried friending me on Facebook. I declined, what is awkward is she friended Bob's family who I am friends with and they accepted. This marriage ended badly and I want nothing to do with her, I really don't want her to see content I have on Facebook and short of unfriending Bob's family, I'm unsure what to do.

If you set your privacy to Friends Only then she shouldn't be able to see your page. Not sure if she will be able to see comments you make to Bob's family (who you are friends with).

That is one of the things I hate about FB. It really does create some awkward social situtation for people. I get friend requests all the time from people at work or old high school acquaintances that I really don't want to be FB friends with so I just simply ignore their requests and let the chips fall where they may.

If you block her you won't see her stuff and she won't see you, however, if you tag someone she is friends with then she'll see that. I blocked a relative of my husband and when I tag him in a photo that relative sees it, even though it's my photo. So just be careful on that front.
