Can ivillage tech communicate issues here?

It really would be helpful if iVillage could make announcements when necessary.  Like popping in a message on this Help Board explaining...for instance..."We are experiencing an outage with the hosting site...you will experience problems with this and or that....we are addressing it.

That way, we have a heads up.

If I knew that the ivillage tech team was keeping us apprised, I'd come here every day FIRST, check to be sure there were no current issues and then either head over to my Board or go home :) and try again later.

I think it would help with the frustration level.

The CM's are, in my opinion, among the group of people who the owners of IVillage do not care about. You are being asked to do an impossible job..satisfy a group who have had services reduced with nothing to offer them. In fact, they asked you to lie to us by telling us in October that things would be fixed soon...I sense that the CM's take the comments here personally...the sad part is that there is no indication that anyone higher up in your chain of command care about us or you. I applaud you that you hang in here, but I hope you are assessing other employment opportunities because the signs of a bright future are just not here.

I agree that a mass communication system, working within the deplorable perimeters we are now forced to deal with after the miserable failure of a software change we were forced into (sorry, I hate it so much I can't help myself) would be very helpful. On Wednesday I tried 11 times to log in. I was not able to. A message saying it's iVillage, not my computer, would be helpful.

What about email? I know that won't get everyone, but there should be a master CL email list. We still get emails sometimes. Some of us CL's have the email address for some regulars to our boards. Being able to pass on something would be helpful. And ease the fuming anger we have towards this software.

Hi Tracy,

I've passed along your idea about an email system.

The only issues I see with it are that a) we aren't always notified immediately of a known issue, so the issue may be resolved before we send out an email, and b) I know personally I don't get many replies to emails I send out, so it's tough to say that it would, indeed, reach people.

But like I said, I've sent it on and I'll touch base to see if we can come up with some sort of notification system.

Thanks and have a great weekend!!

Good morning...

Just to reiterate what Erin said, there are others here who care as well. We just don't have the answer..yet. Your suggestion has been passed along and hopefully a resolution can be found. We try to share what we hear, but as Erin stated, we don't have a way to get into the system ourselves and post anything -- even at the top of the boards -- when it's not working and I don't know what tech's capabilities are in that situation. Either way, makes it tough as we do indeed want to let you know!

Thank you for your questions, and I hope we helped a bit. Have a good weekend.

Hi Happy,

I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm here, trying to help the best I can, while at times dealing with the same issues; that's at least one iVillage person who cares (and I personally know there are more). I have sent your comments along to the team to let them know how you feel about "My Best Idea" being entered in the Webby Awards.

Thank you and have a great weekend,

Hi!

I actually was in charge of that page, so I know what you're talking about. The entire site's system has since changed (the boards as well as the articles/main iVillage.com pages) and that is why that page is no longer in existence.

We do try to update when we can/have info. But unfortunately, as I told withClarity, we can't post when it's a login/posting issue.

I have let the team know that a tech page is something requested though.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Hi withClarity,

Unfortunately a notice couldn't be posted as we were unable to log in or access the boards. If we had a way to share across the site while not being logged in, we definitely would.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
