We'd hate to see you go -- is there something we can do to help?

If you still decide you wish to cancel your membership, you can write to feedback@mail.ivillage.com and we can disable your account. There isn't a way to delete your profile, but you can go into your profile and edit out any information you wish to remove.

I have a huge issue with the fact that people can click on your profile and follow you from board to board or read everything you have posted on IV.

I have a huge issue with the fact that people can click on your profile and follow you from board to board or read everything you have posted on IV. Some of us use specific boards to vent we do not want others following us everywhere. This is a very bad move on IVillages part.

Hi there -- thanks for writing back. This is something we've heard from other members on and are reviewing. While this information is publicly available elsewhere, I do understand your concern.

I agree completely. This is not acceptable. I find it even more outrageous that members can not even delete our own accounts. This place is creepy!!!!

i village used to be run by women for women. it is clear that the new site was desgined by men, and not very well thought out. If the Powers to be had sense they would have had a couple of beta boards that posters could have tried out first. They have made it so difficult to find the boards that we are probably safe, still you should be able to remove yourself from IV.

I totally agree. I used to be on iv all the time. I have literally thousands of posts on here (most are under a different username even though its the same account). However, as soon as MSNBC took over and it became obvious that they invaded privacy and took over any contribution made to the site, I stopped coming around so much. The Health and Well-being board 30-42 used to be one of the most active boards on iv. Now its dead with the tumbleweeds blowing through because we all felt our privacy was invaded and our rights trampled. Both of the board moderators have left iv and the current moderators are struggling trying to get any activity going at all. All of the pre-MSNBC regular members have moved on to a private board outside iv and facebook. Its sad because I used to love this site. Now I just want to delete my entire account, including all my posts - only to find I can't do that. Anything users put on here is apparently on here for ever. In my opinion, MSNBC really ruined iv.

And this is one of my objections. I miss being able to do that. If someone is abusing that tool and stalking THAT is a different issue. Use a different name for each thread.

ok I just replied to someone and it is out of order so it is just floating and makes no sense. Another instance of poor design. Watch, I'll post this and look like I am talking to myself. I probably am.

Hi there -

I'm not seeing an out of place post... if you'll link me to it, I'd be happy to see what I can find out.

Thanks!
