Is this as good as it gets?

I just have to say that since iVillage started using their own program to run the Boards, I have been very disappointed.  I have tried to be patient, but how many months has it been now?  I don't get the same joy in going to my favorite Board.  And I don't think that I'm the only one as posts are extremely down.

My main complaint is that I can't tell whether I've read a post; and on the same note, if I have read it, I can't tell how many people have posted since I read it.  That is surprisingly very irritating!  I've also had an issue lately with typing.  The program can't seem to be able to keep up with how fast I can type.  I have to type slowly and very hard, or it doesn't pick up all the letter.  What a pain to have to go back and correct every sentence you type Frown

Please tell me that iVillage is going to fix these problems.  I will hang in there a bit longer, but otherwise I'll have to find Message Boards on other websites about my favorite subject.

I keep coming back - and keep trying to be positive - and keep hoping it will soon be fixed.....

But really, (those of you who know!!), just how long is this going to last?!!  Both boards at which I am CL are next to dead.  Many of our regular members at "Fifty and Up Friends" have moved on to a FaceBook page of their own and vow they'll *never* come back to iVillage.  And the only thing that keeps the "Menopause" board alive is that it is a topic many women need to find out more about!

I know we may never have our "old:fun:easy-to-use" boards back, but it really would be nice to be able to view and respond to posts with some degree of ease!

I honestly don't think any effort is being made to fix them. I truly and honestly believe that. If they'd show us some progress, maybe I'd change my mind, but I haven't seen anything fixed beyond the first round of fixes when no one could post or read replies.

If you use Firefox (and maybe Chrome) you might want to try downloading the NoScript and AdBlockerPlus add-ons, Emty_nstr. I don't seem to have as many problems as most people with that stuff because of my add-ons, I think. Not that iVillage wants to hear that I have blocked all ads, but maybe a reduction in ad revenue would wake them up!

I've used ad blockers for years. I really hate ads and find they not only increase load times, they also clutter up webpages and make them ugly. Ad-blocked pages include a lot of white space and that makes me happy. ;)

My question is, how long is "a bit"? More than six weeks, apparently.

Hi Cara,

Unfortunately there aren't any specific time frames, but if I hear of any updates that will be appearing for all to see, I'll make sure to let everyone know.

Well, Cara, since the "a bit" comment was made 2.5 months ago, it's safe to assume it will be at least 2 and a half months.  Yell
