I checked out my profile and this is not even a place to put an avatar.   There is a plae for your signature.

Hi!

I'm sorry about the confusion. Here are the instructions on how to update/add an avatar:

Click on Edit My Preferences in the right column, under Quick Links. On the next screen, click on the account tab.


In the account tab, scroll down to the picture section. Click on choose file and you'll be brought to a browse screen. Choose your photo, click ok. **PLEASE NOTE: The avatar image size is 100px (pixels) by 100px. So if your image is larger, the system will size it down for you automatically. This may (or may not) distort your image. To be sure you don't have a distorted image, you'll need your avatar to be 100px by 100px before you upload. You'll get a confirmation that your image was updated. Then click save at the bottom of the page.

Hi Erin,

I mentioned it elsewhere, but I'm not able to do anything with my preferences.  When I try, I get this error message:

The e-mail address <says my email address> is already taken.

Not sure what that means, but I haven't been able to change/save anything under my preferences or my profile.

I'm sorry about that. It's a known issue for some members (myself included). Tech is aware and working on correcting it. As soon as I hear anything I'll be sure to update.

Erin, when I try to change my avatar, I get these errors:

  • Only numbers are allowed inNumber of replies per conversation page.
  • The signature is too long: it must be255characters or less.

Not sure if these are the same errors others are seeing.  If not, adding mine to the list of bugs then Wink

Hi Sue -

I am sorry I missed this. Did you get this squared away? If not, there is a temporary work-around. The signature issue is a known issue. We've requested the limit be removed. In the meantime, removing any unneeded coding from it will {hopefully} get it below the 255 limit. If you need help, let me know.

On the replies thing, if you are in your settings and click on private messenger, the two replies boxes should either be empty or have numbers in them. If they have your member name, delete it and add a number. That should correct it and allow you to save your settings.
