Hi Everyone,

The Big Apple is a mess and unfortunately it is affecting the iVillage team. The office is still closed, many iVillage employees were evacuated and had flooding in their homes, the Internet is unstable in and around the area, and those who can work are probably working from home the rest of the week because the trains and buses are down. This will undoubtedly affect the progress of some of the fixes being worked on for message board issues and bugs.

We thank you very much for your patience this week!

Stay safe.  We'll still be here when things are back up and running, however long it takes.

Definately, stay safe.  Save the power you do have for your phone and personal communications.

I hope NY has enough busses because the subway will be down for a year or more from the looks of it.  I know exactly what they are going through.  My heart goes out to everyone affected by the storm.

I agree about teh subways. Let's face it, salt water = shorting out everything. Salt water means corrosion, and not just short term... SO pumping out is only step one. Then they need to be RINSED thoroughly with fresh water aand THE every electrical connection will need to be checked. And this equipment--- 100 years old, some of it? AAARGH! And all of this doesn't guarantee that corrosion issues won't surface a year or more from now...

NYC wihtout subways --- no way! But I suspect it will be months...

Karla, pls extend my thoughts to those in the NYC area... (()) I hope those evacuated will be able to return home soon and that there were no damages to their homes. Not to worry about iVillage at such a time,, I'm sure the cl's will chip in and keep the fires burning here as needed. Stay safe all will be well hopefully soon.
