Hi, everyone!

First, I want to say THANK YOU for all of your posts -- some issues we know about and are already working on; but you also brought some new bugs to our attention too. It's a big help to us to see these, and it helps me prioritize what needs to happen immediately, and what can come after that.

After we went live yesterday, thanks to you, the Community Leaders, and the Moderators, I was able to give a long list (Wink) of To-Dos to the tech team.

I'll use this thread to start reporting what our tech team is working on. I'll post a follow-up as things get fixed. 

Right now, this is what is being worked on:

1. Fixing Log In in IE

2. Re-importing missing user accounts (those "Visitor (Not Verified)" accounts), which is also related to the Error pages we get when we click on a thread.(What happens is this: when we click on a thread, the system needs to load all the info about that thread – the content, the settings, and the users attached to it. As the system searches frantically for the all the users participating in that thread, when it hits a missing user account, the page load fails.)

3. Re-importing missing message boards: All of the June 2012 Playgroup; boards in the Current Debates, After School Activities, 2008 Playgroup Friends, 2009 Playgroup friends, and Wedding & Honeymoon Planning topics; and the Nurtured Heart Approach board in the Spirited & High Needs topic. I can't thank our members in these boards enough for your patience!

Additionally, you should start seeing some Avatars reappearing, as well as some Signatures.

Also, you'll notice that header copy is missing from the boards -- that will be reloaded in the next 24-36 hours.

As for the rest of the list, I'm sitting down with the project manager this afternoon to prioritize the next tasks for the team. I'll make features that are not working or missing the highest priority.

Hi,

We're hard at work on fixing those Error pages! Thankfully, we know what's causing it, and it's just a matter of getting the fix created. It's related to the "Visitor (Not Verified)" issue. (See my first post in this thread for the long explanation.)

I can't re-add my avatar or signature because of the same email problem as everyone else - it's my email address that it is saying is already used.

Plus the pictures I uploaded to a Halloween post before the switch-over are gone - will they come back or do I need to reload them? The post is useless without the pictures of babies in costumes.

I don't see any way to view the number of page views each post has received - will that come back?

Oh, and I am getting error messages when I try to open many of the threads on my board - Breast Milk vs Formula Debate. http://www.ivillage.com/forums/forum/19297

I need to add a #4 to this list of Things the Tech Team Is Working on as We Speak (type)

I'm calling this one a "blocker" -- basically saying that it's more important than any other task on their list. (But just as important as other blockers, like not being able to log in with IE, or having missing boards, or getting too many error pages.)

Hi there

I might have a temporary workaround for that "email already used" error. It worked for a few of us, but not everyone. Maybe it will work for you! Seems it has to do with the password field. If you want to change anything in Edit My Preferences, go to the Account tab > delete the password from the password field > go change the thing you need to change (in your case, try uploading an avatar) > click the Save button at the bottom. When you go back to your Account tab, your pwd is still there, but your changes have actually been saved. I have a ticket in for the team to fix this, but until then...

Images -- we have them in our database, but I'm not sure why they're not showing up in posts. I've also filed a ticket for this, but in the meantime you might want to go ahead and add them again. Sorry!

Page views on posts -- You know, I'm not sure. Let me see if that's intentional, or a bug. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks, but when I go to the Account Tab, there is no password in the password field to delete.

So I tried to change the password - but of course it said :

  • The e-mail address -----------@-------- is already taken.
  • Your current password is missing or incorrect; it's required to change the Password.

I clicked on "See All Threads In This Board" (missed it before) and now I can see the pageviews again. Unfortunately they all say 0 views - I guess because of the switch over.

But does that mean that no one has checked the board since the switch? Well, I know I have clicked on threads, but they still all say 0 views.

Jessica - not sure if it means anything or makes a difference, but when I go to the account tab, there is no password showing to delete.  So that work-around does not work for me, it seems since I am still getting that error message when I try to edit any of my settings.

So I thought to try to re-set my password to see if that would work - and got this message:

Unable to send e-mail. Contact the site administrator if the problem persists.

Oh, and we have lost the ability to change the colour of our text? Will that come back?

Hi There. I also wanted to throw into the mix that the mobile site does not really operate as a mobile site should.  It seems to be a terrible version of the desktop site.  I'm on an iPhone 4S.

Font is too big, have to slide left / right to see everything.  Do you know if they are working on that as well.

Hmm. Like I said, it worked for some of us but not for everyone. I'm setting the priorities now for what to fix and when. This one definitely needs to be in the top 10! Thanks for trying the fix; sorry it didn't work. I wish I knew why it works for some people and not others. (Works for me; I'm in Chrome...)

(Edited to say "...the erase-your-password fix to be able to save preferences workaround worked for some of us..."_
