The options menu at the bottom right of a post which allows one to bookmark, edit, etc. is showing as an open menu transparent, over the post. See Attachment called untitled (I'm HOPING there's an attachment called untitled since after I hit upload, iVillage is kindly telling me that: "The file referenced by the Upload a File field does not exist."!). When this aberration occurs, the posting box options are seriously limited. For example, the WYSIWYG format, shown in untitled 2 (which I will have to upload in ANOTHER post to this thread, since the upload a file box is now disabled and only "Remove" seems to be active...) has no option to disable or enable rich text and no tool box... I CAN post, but only using filtered html or plain text. I MUCH prefer using WYSIWYG with rich text disabled so I can edit the code I am posting by switching back to rich text. KWIM? P.S. It also means I can't edit a post because it insists on forcing me into the non-working WYSIWYG box where everything is now shown as CODE! And I can't insert photos... because there is no tool bar... And... And... And... Oh, and the entire page seems to believe I want to provide a summary, a shadow copy, and a explanation for any editing to "help other authors understand your motivations." HUH??? This has happened before and no-one has had an explanation to date. Any hope for one now?

OK, here is untitled 2... and note, that my OP is one paragraph but it was composed in at least three --- so the box is acting like a quick reply!

Oh --- and while teh TOP of teh page (for a change) says I'm logged in and itt lets me post accordingly, the side of the page says I need to sign in! And it won't LET me! This isn't slow, this is NEVER!

Hi, Carol I turned in info earlier today about these issues, in addition to what we already knew was happening, and the sign-in is being looked at now. Likely, you're signed in but it just isn't reflecting that on the right-hand side. If I hear back, I'll let you know in this thread. (Or it may just get fixed without any further info for me to share.) Thanks... Donna

Still not repaired/fixed/corrected. If a post was originally posted in WYSIWYG, I can't edit it as it shows up in code. I cannot change that code to plain text. I cannot do a dratted thing with it except post a new post... like here, with no tool bar, no disable rich text, no nothing... WE just keep taking two more steps backwards adn I've yet to see one step forward!

Hi.. I just heard that we're dealing with a code issue this morning -- they hope to have this particular issue fixed quickly. It's messing up layout and formatting. Donna

I know it probably looks different on this end, but extensive testing was done prior to launch. The problem is that a testing environment can never quite successfully mimic 'real life.' Live online sites have millions going in and out, pushing this, clicking that -- really, really different from any testing environment. Things pop up that you couldn't see in testing.

I have no need to email you privately. Unlike Ivillage which is either unable or unwilling to provide regular updates of all the known issues and what has been fixed since the last update, I am perfectly comfortable making my opinion public. I do not agree with your testing statement- after 30 years in the software industry - that it is not possible to test adequately before launch. There are utilities and tools that allow you to simulate volume. Yes, there will be issues with obscure functions and usages after launch, but they shouldn't be a consistent inability to log in. if your development managers are telling you that this was unavoidable, they are not competent. I have never seen a disaster like this one, and that you continue to excuse it with 'they are working hard' brings me n'e reassurance. I want to hear that you have hired new, competent talent. Being sorry doesn't cut it when you keep repeating the same behavior. That is an empowering message that most of the boards used to provide for women in all sorts of situations. It is hypocritical to me that that is the message being given about the issues here.
