Please fix *something*!!

Please, oh, please, fix something!! Just one thing, one problem, something!! It would give us hope that more is to come. I feel like we're at a turning point and if something isn't fixed this week, more members will leave. We diehards love IV and are still hanging on, but soon there won't be anyone here to talk to.

So, please IV techs, give us one thing to hang onto. Please fix *something*!!

After all this time it would be nice if *something* was *fixed*
Won't hold my breath though ::sigh::

My guess is that they must only employ one tech to be this far behind, or at such a long stand still, to have not done anything at all in such a long time. I mean, I know they have been working on the whole of the website, but someone needs to be assigned to the boards mess too! I wish they would hire someone else in addition to their lone tech so someone could be working on the boards. Parroting this sentiment.   It's been a long, bumpy road.

Good morning, everyone..

At the risk of repeating, I wanted to share the link to Jess's (our Community Director) last update: http://www.ivillage.com/forums/ivillage-women/around-ivillage/ivillage-help/ivillage-help/latest-update-1-17-13

She mentions in it that once the deletion of data is completed, they will then be working on the list of other fixes. The deletion takes some time -- as in weeks -- so no matter how many people we have in tech or who's doing what, we're still waiting for the deletion script to run, and no additional people will really change the speed of the script. (That's my very non-technical explanation! LOL)

I know it's frustrating to wait -- really -- but they're doing all they can and once it's done, we'll be able to move forward.

Thanks for hanging with us...

If they are running a deletion/purge script then why can't the tech's be working on fixing something else at the same time.  A script runs on it own and only needs a tech if a problem occurs, certainly you are not paying techs to sit around staring at a monitor while the machines run the scripts.

For those of us, like myself, with technical experience the answers/excuses we are getting are just not adding up.  We are tired of the empty apologies and our boardies (those that are still around) want answers or are leaving in droves.  We/they need to know that the boards truly matter to IV, because all the evidence points to the contrary.

Sorry for the bluntness, but I'm beyond frustrated with the lack of any progress here.

My Boardies especially hate being told to clear their cookies, change their browsers, or make some tweak to their system.   They read it like their computer is being faulted.   I get that.   I have a thread here on changing settings.   The advice is to move my monitor resolution.   I shouldn't have to.   I didn't have to before and it worked fine.

But I guess we have beat the "why did we fix something that wasn't broke" horse to death so I won't go there.

I'm not a technical expert, but it seems to me that if they're able to add a whole new channel while the deletion of data is going on, they should able to also fix *something* on the boards.

So how many more weeks is this going to take? Months? Will you let us know when we're getting close to the end of the deletion time? After it is finally finished, will they fix *something* on the boards then or will they just keep giving us excuses? Sorry, but this is beyond frustrating. The mere fact that some of us are still hanging here has to tell them how important our boards are to us. We need reassurance from time to time during those deletion weeks that they care too. :(

Hi D,

would you like that one fix before or after the cow jumps over the moon? :O)
