Yes, I expect that this probably somehow isn't appropriate to post here - but it seems to be pretty big news, and I'm sorry that I had to hear it elsewhere.

I would love for someone, anyone, to let us know what this will mean for all of us.

It means "hasta la vista, baby." And why are you surprised they didn't tell you?

That was sad to read...and I, too, wonder what it'll mean for us.

To be honest with you all, I kinda felt that iVillage, after it's big crash and burn, followed by months of  no real solid progress to hold up their end of the relationship...to keep the boards afloat, simply realized that  it 'just wasn't into us' and we got dumped, but in that way guys tend to do...just disappear and hope we would get the message...take the hint. But we cried for our boards, cursed and carried on, and so they would reluctantly come back and give it a half-hearted attempt.

And we women, who tend to not be able to take the hint very well and need to hear the words 'we are through' and then want 'closure', always hoped and prayed that we'd get back together, and any little crumb thrown our way was good enough for us and surely meant that they REALLY DID love us and wanted to work it out.  Some of us loved so strongly and so deeply and just could not/would not let go...one of those some of us, being me :)  It's apparently been one long kiss goodbye.

But...maybe it's not really over.  Maybe, if I sit patiently, they WILL come back.  Hey, maybe we can still be friends!

I've apparently spent too much time on an ending a relationship or affair board :)

We just heard about this as well :(  We haven't gotten word yet on how they will be handling the boards, but will pass on that information as soon as we get it.  In the meantime, we are operating business as usual.

I hope you have a good Thanksgiving.

Clarity....your response is in the category of 'too true to be funny'. Great perspective on the situation. Thanks for sharing!

iVillage would not post my comment, and then it posted four times.

Business as usual.

On Nov 14, 2012 this article was written in the PR Newswire.

NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NBCUniversal News Group announced today that iVillage, one of the largest online communities for women, will be joining its portfolio of digital news properties, effective immediately.

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/the-nbcuniversal-news-group-adds-ivillage-to-its-portfolio-179339911.html

One could derive from that article with this shift that iVillage would be no longer be on it's own.  That was happening a year ago.

We certainly were kept in the dark and most had a lot of hope of the message boards ever getting back to the way they were.
