Hi, iVillage friends!

Thank you so much for all of your kind words, as we deal with the devastation that Hurricane Sandy brought. It means so much to have your support this week. Believe me, we all wish we were at work dealing with the business-as-usual!

This update isn't really much of an update, I'm afraid. Many of us are stuck working at home, since our office in lower Manhattan still doesn't have power. (Can we get a standing ovation for the generators that are keeping the site up and running?!) Many of us don't have power or heat, much less Internet access. We've been evacuated, and a few of us have damage to our homes or have lost them completely -- as is case with a few members of our tech team. I've now been in touch with all the guys, though, and I'm happy to say that everyone's safe.

As I mentioned in my other hurricane update posts, it's definitely impacting any work we're able to do and we're sorry for that. As soon as we can get back to work, we will! Keep checking this board for updates.

If any other iVillage members here on the East coast are affected, I hope you're okay! I see many people checking in across the boards, and have read some of your stories -- it's all just so heartbreaking.

Stay safe, everyone!

...keep going!

Definitely praying for the iVillage team.  Hurray for those generators keeping iVillage ticking away.  A rival women's site has been off air all week, I've noticed Wink

I am happy to report I am far enough away, I am being unaffected by Super Storm Sandy. Any pictures you see of snow in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is not a result of the far reaching effect of the storm, it's normal for this time of year. I thoughtfully posted some tips on the Labor and Delivery board of what to do if the midwife or doctor isn't there. It's hit and miss when I can access the board but I'm doing my best to be a CL.

Thank you VERY much to everyone who are working in less then ideal conditions to keep iVillage running. I realize due to circumstances beyond peoples' control, it's not always going to be available.
