My computer cleans cache and cookies every so often (I have it set that way on purpose and will not change those settings). So... every so often, I have to login again to iVillage before posting or replying on the boards.
Today, when I went to add a post to my board, it brought me to the login screen. Okay.. no problem, right? Wrong! After I entered my username and password, I was not brought back to where I started. I wasn't even on my board... I was on one of the general iVillage menu screens (gives the options P&P, health, ent., etc.). I had to go back to the board and then click "start a discussion" all over again. Not so much a problem, more of an inconvenience, for me, because I have the board bookmarked and found my way back w/o a hitch, but... yeah, I'm sure you get my point.

Aha! Happened again when I went to the board just a few minutes ago from my dughter's laptop (argh... my monitor isn't working!). Here's what I was brought to after I went to my board to start a new conversation (after being brought to a login screen)...

Wait, I have one better than that now. I was not showing as logged in at all and I read a post and hit reply. It let me repy and on the reply screen and it had my name up in the left hand corner. I was able to post this time and not log in but was logged in. I fully expected it to ask me to log in but it didn't.
I never log out. I keep the keep me logged in box checked. A new adventure every day!

How very interesting. I don't think it has been mentioned but will double check and pass on your observations and see if anyone has information.

I have similar problems when I try to post before 7am. It doesn't matter which of my boards I am on. It says I'm logged in but it asks me to log in and then it either won't let me because there was an error or it keeps asking me to log in. When it finally takes my log in and actually logs me in I am then zapped to the main iVillage page.
I thought maybe there is something the tech team is doing at that hour, like uploading fixes to our problems but I don't really know and I've given up on the long thread pinned to the the top of this discussion board.
Okay.... after clicking "reply", I was brought to the sign-in page. I Input my username and password and when the page loaded, there was a starred, red comment telling me I am not authorized to add a post.

I went back to the post I was trying to reply to and tried clicking "reply" again - mind you I was logged in at this time because it had the "Hi, purple31!" up at the top, left corner. Anyway... it brought me to the sign-in page, so I put my username and password in again and voila, it let me post this.
Weird.
It happened when I clicked "start a discussion" and was brought to a login page.... *then* after I entered my username and password, I was brought to a general page. I don't logout often.... only when my cookies get cleaned. I'll do it now and see what happens.

I'm sorry you're having an issue. I tried both with a new discussion as well as with a reply and both times I was brought back to the board. Are you still seeing this happening? Is it just happening on your board (if you've tried other boards)?
