I was just reading about this at cnn. Awful, the scene is horrific. Those news posts always seem to attract so many weirdos who are mean-spirited and I usually don't read the comments but I got sucked in again and one guy mentioned if these races should continue. I guess the number of crashes in shows is higher the last 4-5 years. We used to go a lot and now I honestly wonder if it's as safe as I used to think. I never really thought about it before but now if we went, I'd probably be a lot less comfortable. I guess like any sport, there's danger but sports push the envelope more frequently it seems. I'd hate to see the end of air shows.
My DH knew 3 people there...luckily, there are all okay! However, they saw it happen & said it was just horrific. I wonder how long before they change the rules & not allow the places to 'race' right overhead.
I think I've now heard that 3/4 of the dead are from Tree & mine state. My sister lived in Reno for 4 yrs & I asked if any of her friends would of gone & she had checked on those friends to check.
