Just don't hold your breath. ;) I filled up my vehicle this morning & I don't even bother to look at the total amount. Better for my peace of mind. I did note it was $3.95 per gal.
hope hasn't gotten us too far at this point in time. What I'd like to see is how she thinks she can lower gas prices. I know that there are those that say increasing drilling and exploration in the US will lower prices. I thought that OPEC basically set the price, at least the basic price, for oil; so I don't understand how increasing here will make a difference, especially if it just means lowering production from foreign sources. I don't claim any real grasp of the oil market and how this all works, so I'd like an explanation from her on how she is going to accomplish this. I'd welcome lower prices, we are around $3.80-$3.85 here (not in the city of Chicago). I just drove to southern Illinois and paid $3.65. I never thought I'd be thinking $3.65 was a bargain.
It would be nice to have a President who didn't hate oil or want higher fossil fuel prices. Just her goal puts Ms. Bachmann well ahead of our current leader in understanding the needs of our people.
We're at $3.64. I've gotten used to it, though. I've gotten really good at combining trips - I actually pretty much plan out my week in advance! It's nice. Plus, having cars that get good gas mileage helps...and a mass transit system...so I don't feel the pinch the way some people do.
Oil and the Arctic might not mix Editorial Shell Oil's conditional permit to drill exploratory wells off Alaska should not have been granted. The hazards of drilling in such waters are in some ways worse than operating thousands of feet underwater. http://articles.latimes.com/2011/aug/10/opinion/la-ed-arctic-20110810

Hope she's right.

Gas, here is/was $3.36 a gallon last night.
Where did that idea come from?
I'm not too happy about this.........
