I heard all over the news today that the average household wealth for blacks is about $5,300 and for whites it is around $113,500. This is the highest wealth difference between blacks and whites ever. Is it time to increase affirmative action programs for blacks?

ADD kids usually have higher IQ's. You know that, right?

How could I file a lawsuit? I am white and got the job. Found out about the phone interview months later. Nice try putting me down, but I did nothing wrong. It was wealthy white people who did this.

I just find it very hard to believe that a law firm would do such a thing. And then admit it later. It would seem like they were asking for a discrimination lawsuit. Besides, I know plenty of black people who don't "sound black" so ......

Yeah, but you clearly weren't talking about their social IQ.

Ouch - Is thiis mainstream conservative thought about education?

No wonder why we'll soon fall behind other 1st world nations in innovation and job creation.

Teaching about different types families in kindergarten does not take away from teaching the basics. That darn familty tree project that I did and my kids did in K is a perfect opportunity to teach diversity, though I hate that assignment.

IMO, we need much more than reading, writing, and mathematics and we know that there in not just one method of teaching our grade school kids that work for every kid. Some programs work well for NT kids, other programs work well for non NT kids. All kids have a lot to offer if educated to the best of their abilities, and not all need advanced degrees to be successful.

I don't think it's a waste to recognize dyslexia or high functioning autism, and help them work with and through their disability. Many are quite brilliant and insightul thought leaders.

Those 25 normal kids, like myself, would be unemployable without the Bill Gates disruptive types transforming an idea into a global business.

I think everyone has a protential value to society, low IQ to high IQ, and public education should invest in our nurses aides, carpenters, construction workers, retail workers, as well as our rocket scientists, and teachers.

You and the other poster know exactly what I am talking about. It seems that there is a real effort to not dicuss the subject at hand but to be snarky to other posters. My DD had a high functioning Down's syndrome kid and a low IQ kid in her first grade class. Their parents wanted them mainstreamed into a "normal" classroom so they wouldn't pick up bad habits. The Down's kid would cut other children's clothing with his scissors as well as choke other kids. Both children required a full time aid in the classroom ar all times. Both children has emotional outbursts for no apparent reason. It was extremely difficult for the teacher to run her classroom smoothly. It was completely unfair to the regular kids in the classroom to be subjected to that constant distraction day in and day out for the benefit of two low IQ kids so they "don't pick up bad habits". THIS is what I am talking about. It goes on every day across the country. I realize it's very politically incorrect to talk about, but it's the truth. The normal and gifted kids are sacrificed routinely.

There was even a special needs kid who had an aid (don't know what his label was) but he basically screamed loudly when he felt like it. I was a sub in the art class and he was required to be in a normal art class with his aid, per the parents demand. He was a big kid, probably 10 or so and weighed around 115 lbs. He proceeded to get out of his stool and BREAK other students clay art that was drying on the shelves. His aid was an older woman who could not control him. All the normal children had to sit there and watch their art get destroyed because this kids parents demanded he be mainstreamed in a regular 5th grade art class.

Who stands up for the rights of the normal children who deserve a classroom without chaos?

Lol! I seriously doubt that China, Japan, and India are wasting too much time in teaching grade schoolers about homosexuality and teaching them "gay history".
