Blacks' Wealth 20 Times Less Than Whites in U.S.A.

I heard all over the news today that the average household wealth for blacks is about $5,300 and for whites it is around $113,500. This is the highest wealth difference between blacks and whites ever. Is it time to increase affirmative action programs for blacks?

Whether you benefited from their action or not, it was a violation of federal law. You would have been considered a whistle blower I would assume.
Or maybe it happened before these things were in place.
The children who were "abnormal" (that's the opposite of normal, right?) would be sidelined and marginalized, not just to their detriment but also to that of the "normal" children who need to learn at some point in time that we're not cut or molded like cookies. Children need to be accepted, even (or more accurately, ESPECIALLY) those with disabilities.
Sounds to me as though the mainstreaming you mention was done without adequate consideration or preparation. You cannot extrapolate that all mainstreaming is equally "chaotic".

Um, no. It's called "least restrictive environment." A child with high functioning Down's absolutely belongs in the mainstream classroom as does the child with the low IQ. What should be happening is that the special education teacher works in the mainstream classroom instead of pulling those children out. If each child required a full-time aide, how in the world was the child able to cut other children's clothing or choke other kids? Seems like it's not a problem with having the children in the classroom per se, but rather not having the proper aides with them.
I'd rather have had those students in my classroom than some of the disruptive poorly mannered children who had no excuse for their bad behavior that I ended up having and whose parents didn't care.
Actually, that is not true. IQ distribution in the ADHD population is the same as in the non-ADHD population.
That is probably true, but not applicable to all ADHD kids.

When you say "normal distribution," that means that those with ADD/ADHD don't necessarily have low IQs as compared to the rest of the population, though some people seem to think that those kids are dumb. That's not usually the case. "Higher IQ's" as the previous poster stated would be correct as the original poster was talking about low IQ ADD kids.
