Ousted dictator Moammar Gadhafi has been captured or killed after the apparent fall of his hometown of Sirte, according to reports out of Libya.

Reports are still unconfirmed, but most news outlets are stating that Gadhafi is dead.

Our local TV news had just one quick flash & then they haven't shown it again as far as I know. I've been away from home, computer & TV for most of the day. Just checking in from my android.

Anyway, this is what the Libyan people wanted & I'm happy for them. My uncle had to work with Khaddafy briefly before he took power (US troops training what would eventually become his army). Way back then, he came back & said how much he distrusted & despised him...and how our gov't was making a big mistake.

I don't grieve for him at all. I just wish we could take the high road and not parade the "prize" around on the front page of the newspaper. No different than Vlad the Impaler hanging heads off his bridge. We should be better than that, especially if we want to be the worlds police. Shouldn't we hold ourselves to a higher standard than our enemies?

If you're talking about media coverage, just remember that media outlets want what draws the most viewers/customers. That Gaddafi may be dead after months of ducking, dodging and hiding is big news.

I shan't grieve for him. Remember, he gave the Pan Am/Lockerbie mastermind a hero's welcome back to Libya. Bleah.
