Is he not familiar with the requirements of President of the United States? Is this bone head really making decisions for our country? Sigh. What next, the island of Guam tipping over again?

Doesn't sound like he was talking only to Dream Act students. He asked them to be seated, and then began talking to the entire audience.

So, I'm going to make a wild guess here.

It could also apply to the president of a corporation, a college/university, an organization, etc. I can't get the video either.

I listened to it again, he says "...and maybe our President"
I do not know what transcript you are talking about.

I disagree, that was exactly who he was talking about.

For those that haven't gotten a link to work, here is where I found the video, it's very hard to find. http://theconservativetreehouse.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/democrat-senator-dick-durbin-hey-maybe-someday-an-illegal-alien-will-become-president%E2%80%A6/
For context purposes, here is a link from the Hispanic National Bar Association. The pc term seems to be to call these illegal residents "DREAMERS" here they refer to them as they file into the committee hearing. http://www.hnba.com/dream-act-updates-june-28-2011/
If you were to listen to the entire video of Durbin and his opening remarks he asks for "anyone that is a Dreamer, a Dream Act student, to stand". Following through on his remarks he then goes on to say that "as I look around this room I see our doctors, our teachers......our congressmen, our senators, and maybe our President". He then goes on to talk about the Dream Act students, and he "implores" his colleague's to support the Dream Act, calling it a civil rights issue.
His direct subject is the Dream Act, his indirect subject are the "Dreamer", illegal residents that would benefit from the Dream Act. He is not talking about anyone else in the room with the exception of "his colleagues" that he wants to support the Dream Act, and those that "offer to alternative".

I don't see how anyone can interpret this in any other way. Durbin misspoke. He cannot 'see' 'maybe our President' in this room.

It is what it is, it doesn't change the context of the debate on the Dream Act. But the responses here certainly are telling.

We've already got a Kenyian Communist in the White House, why not an illegal Alien? ; )

I can't watch videos or listen to audio.

I based my reply on Turtle's description, and her quote of exactly what was said.

And you're right, the responses here certainly are telling.
