Interesting.

Nothing about companies contributing these large sums to politicians smells right to me.

ITA. In fact, IMHO all candidates should be allotted the same amount of 'air time', etc. & the amount needed should be capped. We have the internet now! There's no need to raise this kind of money. Add to that, debates, etc., give them more than enough exposure.

Not only is this type of thing a waste of money, it fosters an environment of corruption & secret alliances. That money should be going back into our industries for hiring, providing benefits, etc. I mean, after all, don't the GOP contend that the wealthy 'create jobs', therefore the tax breaks?? ;)

Does this imply that I could form a company & give XX amount to my favourite candidate & then immediately dissolve the aforementioned company? Though as an individual I can only contribute X amount.

:smileyindifferent:

Update: Romney: Controversy should end now that PAC donor has identified himself

I don't care if the donor has identified himself...this was sneaky & slimey.

Yeah, we should all be able to do that! ;) It amazes me (not really) that they will find some way to get around the contribution cap no matter what.... ;p~~~~
