Gingrich hires a manager

Gingrich has too much baggage to win a presidential election IMO.

The Center for Public Integrity's Peter Stone reports:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will tap Rob Johnson to manage his GOP presidential bid, iWatch News learned Friday ....

The 36-year-old Johnson is well known in Texas GOP circles, but running Gingrich’s presidential drive is likely to be considerably more challenging than his previous experience. Johnson ran Texas Gov. Rick Perry's successful re-election campaign last year. Earlier he served as campaign manager for Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in 2002 and then became his chief of staff.

With Gingrich and Huntsman evidently, and Palin and Huckabee making no real moves toward running, there's a lot of focus on Mitch Daniels today. Daniels associates, two Republicans told me today, continue to put out feelers to Republicans in the early states, but there's no indication that he and his family have made up their mind one way or the other.

Fox News Terminates Gingrich and Santorum Contracts

Fox News Channel terminated its contracts with former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania this week as the two Republicans weigh presidential bids, a spokeswoman for the network confirmed Thursday.

> I think Newt ought to get himself a talk show like Mike Huckabee and forget about running for President. Huckabee looks like he's having a blast ..... getting to play with Lynard Skynnard. Who the heck needs to be President?<

Huckabee should be under a rock for allowing the guy out of prison in AR who came to WA state & murder the 4 Lakewood police. Hey Huckabee you want to kill some more of our WA police???
