Such a tragedy! Poor young woman. :smileysad:

It's impossible, for me, to understand the mind set of 'honour' killings.

When this murder happened it was posted on this board. Thank you for posting the update.

It is my understanding that if they allow Sharia law in the United States, people who follow Sharia Law cannot be criminalized under U.S. Federal law. I believe there was already a case where a man was not punished under U.S. law for raping his wife because it is allowed under Sharia Law. I think the case was in GA....I'm not sure though. People following Sharia law would be allowed to do what is permitted under that law because of "religious freedoms".

"Charles' ruling was overturned last month by New Jersey's Appellate Court, which ruled that the husband's religious beliefs were irrelevant and that the judge, in taking them into consideration, "was mistaken."" - There is not and will never be Sharia law in the U.S.

(There is not and will never be Sharia law in the U.S.)

Never say never. Muslims are working hard to make sure Sharia law is permitted in the United States.

"people being worried about Sharia law taking over in the US"
Those that spout such nonsense are fearmongering. It's not going to happen.

( It's not going to happen.)

It is already happening in the U.K. A judge in NJ ruled if favor of Sharia law...even though it was overturned....it should have NEVER ever gotten that far....and yet it did.

Instead of saying, "it will never happen here".....wouldn't it be better to make darn sure it never happens here?

As far as "people being worried about Sharia law TAKING OVER in the U.S."....this is a false statement. I don't believe people are worried about Sharia law taking over.....they are worried about judgments BASED on Sharia law. Clearly it is already happening by liberal activist judges who seem to agree....thank goodness there are higher courts with wiser judges.
