Midwest buckles under storm, calls it a snow day

How's everyone faring? We're running out of space to pile snow. Had the snow removed from our roof $300 which is a good deal, I guess. Have heard reports of people charged up to $1K. We were afraid of our roof collapsing under the weight of 4-5 feet of snow.

Neighbour across the road their snow blower died so we & other neighbours have been helping them keep the driveway clear. Teenager next door removed the snow from out deck & dug a path so the oil delivery guy could fill our tank.... If he ever gets here. Of course the refill area is at the back of our house.

Hope everyone is staying warm & safe.

There's hope..........

>"Punxsutawney Phil's handlers told Groundhog Day revelers at Gobbler's Knob, a tiny hill in Punxsutawney, Pa., that the groundhog had not seen his shadow, meaning winter will end within six weeks, according to tradition."<

Icy Blast Of Winter Slams Connecticut

A rollover on I-91 North between exits 28 and 29 has closed the right lane of the highway. Conditions are extremely slick Wednesday. (DOT)

Icy Blast Of Winter Slams Connecticut

>"Connecticut won't be suffering alone during the bad weather. Wednesday's storm will affect most of the country, stretching 2,000 miles from Texas, through the Midwest and Great Lakes, into the Northeast. Thirty-three states were under some type of winter weather advisory, including the travel hub of Chicago"<

I heard on the news last night that the big seller in your area right now is the 'roof rake'...all the stores are sold out, but some guy was describing how you can make your own!

You've really been blasted this winter! And here we are, sunny with highs ranging from 45-50! We have a small rain storm coming in on Friday(?) but it's suppose to clear up again by Sunday & be sunny most of next week!

I've been comforted by Al Gore telling me that massive snow is proof of global warming. I guess once the glaciers cover North America again, we'll understand in fullness the problem of global warming. I now know that snow, lack of snow, heat, cold, rain, drought, hurricanes, or lack of hurricanes, or really any weather proves global warming. It is the first science I've ever encountered with any observation proves the theory. I wonder how many roofs will collapse under global warming snow and ice today?

It's sad to see there are people who don't understand the difference between climate and weather.

I was hoping we just get snow but now the power lines & trees are getting covered with ice. TG I don't have to go anywhere.

My problem is I understand the difference between science and religion. Global warming as preached by Al Gore is more or less religion.

LOL. Maybe you should quit listening to Al Gore. You're the only one I'm aware of who does.
